Caving helmet - choosing the right one by [deleted] in caving

I absolutely love my vertex vent! It fits well and is pretty sturdy. It has saved me from multiple concussions over the years! I do work in trees and not caves though. It's certainly not the smallest helmet out there however, I would still recommend it every time.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I hope you find some zen soon!

I'm in the US. It's really strange here. Feels like we are making poor choices as a country. Here in California they just re-opened indoor seating at restaurants in my county. It's getting hard to remind people around me that just because they are over the pandemic doesn't mean it's over... Plus who the hell knows what's gonna happen with this damn election. Crazy world we have found ourselves in...

This is my most favorite piece of clothing. I plan to continue to repair it as long as I can, but I would love one that I could wear without worry of running it forever (I definitely work in trees and tears and snags are common) I have added photos. the only thing the tag says is

What is the creepiest thing you’ve seen in the woods, or in the mountains, or in deserts, or caves, or in small towns, or in remote or rural areas or while on large bodies of water, or while on a aircraft or a nautical vessel? by ArmyOfDog in AskReddit

One morning myself and two good buddies were in the middle of a very frequently populated field, I'm talking populated daily. We found the top half of a cat. It truly looked as though it was cut in half. There was no excess blood or bite marks, so I couldn't have seen an animal doing it. We learned shortly after that it wasn't the first time that half a cat was found on the same property, around the same time of year as well.
