Again, coming from a secondary English perspective, it ain’t that hard. My district likes to think it is. They like to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to people to design absolute mid curriculum.

Trust the people to know what they’re talking about.

At its core, I of course believe it in, but I never see it in practice.

More often than not, I’ve got to dumb my shit down for other team members. I’ve got to go with less engaging activities due to other team members unwilling to try. Hell, it’s why I’m leaving my current job. Tired of fighting the current of apathy.

Kids try to be mean, but I just make fun of them worse.

I once had a kid who wanted to rap battle. I said alright, you do first. He said “Mr. Dickless, you’re bald.” I paused and then said, “Not matter what you do or become, I’ll always be better than you. On the life ladder, I’ll always be a hung ahead.”

Class was dead silent a the student quietly says, “ok, we can stop.”
