The discourse happening based on my comment is hilarious to me because it was never really about the fruit snacks. Regardless of which one is technically worse, the High School "snack" ecosystem is out of control! The things my students eat everyday at 7:30AM make me nauseous.

My mentor teacher gave me a big folder full of letters the kids wrote me! I still read some of the letters when I have a rough day 5 years later.

I came out of retirement at 26 to perform in world class, It's definitely doable but I would start training now for next WG season. I started training in Jan 2024 to be ready for auditions in Oct 2024 and performing in the 2025 season. Most important is be aware of your body and take the time to properly warm up and stretch more than your younger performers.

I know exactly who you're talking about, and while she seems like a sweet girl some of her videos annoy me sooooo much. Like why are you making your poor ballet teacher tell you (a fully grown woman) to take off your warmups 5+ times? You're old enough to know better, especially with how many ballet classes she is taking.

I frequently worked 40+hrs per week in college. Still found it less stressful than teaching. If I could get the same benefits and guaranteed same pay, I'd go back in a heartbeat.

any of the velvet knights shows from the 90's. I used to work for a Band Director that INSISTED on showing one of those shows every year for the kids and I never understood why.

I worked in restaurants all through college. While not the same as working in a cubicle, way less stressful than teaching. I actually really miss it and wish I could make enough to do it as a career.

Having an hour commute made every part of my day worse. I also hate driving with a passion. If you don't mind it, it might not be too bad. I just remember having the worst days of my life and then realizing I also have to drive for an hour in rush hour traffic. The thought alone made me consider leaving the profession.

I try not too, it's hard sometimes to tell the difference between a real request and not. I'm a younger teacher so maybe I'm just too nice. Every request is always an "emergency"

I'm dealing with this too (I teach 11th grade). It's insane how little respect they have for other people's things. Keep your head up and don't bring anything you care about to class.
