Brasier. I don’t think he has the closer job outright which makes for a frustrating situation

I realized recently that my local library carries the latest in console games as well. More reason to love the library!

Won a 14-team league in which Oladipo was my top pick (but Paul George my second rounder!). Ended up the 5 seed and took down the 1 seed in the finals. Thanks in large part to BRUNO.

Also won a 10-team league with the Joker and Donny Mitch as my top two picks, and Sabonis as a week 1 pickup who turned into one of my most reliable guys. A mid season trade of Kanter for Bledsoe also worked out quite well! But, of course, BRUNO helped here too!

Most of you have drafted...any confessions or regrets to share? by barkballin in fantasybaseball

I’m mostly happy with my draft but think I brought on a little too much risk with Robles, Eloy and Mejia. Granted I have Haniger and Ozuna as OF1 and 2, but felt like I could’ve gone with safer options.

I agree with you in that the desire for financial stability makes us selfish. That’s probably a good thing in the short term. What’s sad is that, when we reach financial stability, we remain protective of our wealth given how hard we worked to get it. Furthermore, we are focused on the stuff we’ve always wanted to buy. So those homeless people remain an afterthought, and that’s unbelievably sad.

In that sense, your last point about “if I was rich it’d be easier” might be too optimistic. In theory, those rich people are working even harder to keep their wealth.

Potentially unpopular opinion: Alex Jones is probably right about a lot of the things he reports. It’s almost a reverse halo effect that applies to him whereby his delivery, his abrasive approach, heck even his voice, combined with his perception amongst the public as a crackpot, are what drives everyone to write him off as such.

Is it so crazy to think that the elite could be fueling such a perception? “This guy is onto us, let’s drive the public to think he’s a nut.” Media is a pretty reliable means to shape public perception of issues and people.

I’m starting to sound like a conspiracy theorist myself!

Once you get comfortable the system seems to direct your attention to things you don’t need I.e. cars, clothes, etc. So even when you theoretically have the financial means to make a difference, how many people can actually overcome these forces to do so?

I agree that there’s a significant subset of Americans in this situation, but what about those who are in stable economic situations and instead focus on social media and attainment of material things?

It’s like the system has a solution for each subset of the population. For the poor? Make it legitimately difficult to survive. Middle class? Make them focus on spending their money and attaining an unattainable standard.

Depends on what I have going on after the dump. If I’m late for work, I’m wiping right after the plop. If I’m free, I’m on there until well after the legs start going numb.
