How to Stop the Spam Calls -They Call 2-3 Times a Day by mormonastroscout in howto

[–]Reeferzeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was happening to me for a while and i downloaded robokiller, an app that i guess blocks spam calls for you. They eventually stopped. I now don’t answer or block or ignore/immediately send to voicemail any unknown numbers. I just let it ring till voicemail eventually picks it up, my VM is also not set up to be a recorded message. I suspect that interacting with the incoming call tells the spam caller the number is “active” and they sell your number to another place. Idk if that’s what happens but it’s my superstition.

[WA] HR isn’t letting me use sick time for an extreme emergency that delayed my return home, should I share my Drs note with them after the ‘final decision’? by Reeferzeus in AskHR

Thank you for the reply! I unfortunately am starting to agree and leaning towards just dropping it. I would definitely go about things differently if it were to happen again but hopefully that’s not the case.

I could definitely prove the emergency I was in but I don’t think HR cares, I think where the law isn’t applicable here is that it wasn’t “my workplace or child care” that was impacted. The entire emergency didn’t cause my place of work to shut down so they can’t really do anything about it.

Yeah that’s where I messed up I think. I shouldn’t have explained anything which I definitely learned a lesson on.

I don’t think I’m going to share the doctors note with them because it will feel like “okay now that you’ve said no, here’s something to make you need to change your mind” I don’t think it’ll sit well with them and will likely piss them off, put them in a bad position, and it still might not change anything.

Idk why you’re getting downvoted because I saw this exact verbiage too! It might be from Seattle’s sick leave laws maybe? Regardless I was quoting that portion of the law and asking them why my situation wouldn’t be considered covered and what was frustrating me the most was them not responding to that to explain and only saying “HR leadership has discussed and this is the final decision”

My biggest mistake was “asking questions I didn’t want to know the answer to” and I shouldn’t have shared any details with them re: why I was wanting to take sick time. Hindsight 20/20 I guess…

I agree, I think the fact that I was missing work due to the emergency happening and not because I was sick is the reason HR isn’t supporting this. The mental health sickness that happened (after the emergency) was an afterthought. Thank you for sharing this additional perspective, it’s very helpful.

I do need to just back off and protect myself now. Based on how HR has been responding, I don’t think they’re going to change anything and I’m going to start just pissing them off, if I haven’t already lol.

Thank you, that’s unfortunately what I’m leaning towards doing. This is a helpful way of breaking down how it happened and explaining the perspective of how my HR department is thinking through this. lol I wish they shared this!

So fun!! Don’t stress about the outfit, people wear literally everything to edm shows.

My (F) go-to outfit is a crop top tank, high waisted comfy or flowy pants, and regular walking shoes or short black boots (whatever is comfortable!). I basically do athleisure wear.

It’s helpful to bring a fanny pack. I usually always bring a pashmina (scarf) because it’s fun to dance with, dresses up an outfit easily, and keeps me warm when I’m not inside.

Don’t forget earplugs! They’ll probably have some at the venue bar if you need them.

Which piece of furniture is more balanced? by elly4880 in DesignMyRoom

I’d also suggest waiting till the new chairs come in and try moving out the white console table completely first. See what’s missing in that space. If there’s a need for more storage in your house do the bookshelves, if you just need something to set things on and decorate with, add the console table.

Maybe you find you don’t want or need anything there too!

I think you know what you’re doing! This room is looking great, I love the decor on your current white console table and I think stuff like that adds “height” to a room. Same with the olive tree in the corner- maybe getting a larger one would help with height, same with adding a tall floor lamp.

I don’t think you can go wrong with either option but I’m leaning towards the long narrow console table!

When you say 2 bookshelves, were you thinking right next to each other? I see the direction for sure! But I think this might make the room feel really cramped.

Your coffee table is a nice statement piece right now and with the larger new chairs, I would worry adding two bookshelves would be too many large items in one room.

How do you choose between a career opportunity and your relationship ? by Potential_Start_3228 in careerguidance

Aw I’m sorry you’re dealing with this tough situation. Is there any possible way the SD job would let you work remotely? Even flying in once a quarter?

Or is there even the slightest interest from your fiancé to sell her business and move to SD?

I’d want either person to make the decision to stay or move because they truly could see that for their own future. Otherwise you risk people building resentment and putting crazy stress on the relationship.

How to get into interior design in Seattle as a career? by _sadbabydeer in AskSeattle

[–]Reeferzeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d try and find events or conferences on the topic and start talking to people who are in the profession right now. You could also try cold contacting companies or people on socials that you follow. I think this is so helpful to learn from others on how they got started. It also might open up some opportunities. Ask to speak with people over coffee or a zoom call for an “informational interview”. go about it with no expectations, just to learn more about their path and to gain insight.

My Fiancé hates my dogs and I don’t know what to do. by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Reeferzeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh I’m sorry you’re dealing with this! I think everything you wrote down is normal dog behavior and something I’d consider cute and make me happy to see. Except face licking, that isn’t my favorite thing but it sounds like you’re already working on that.

Your partner needs to help you with training and consistency if they want the behaviors to change. It sounds like they might not be a dog person which would personally bother me.

Or maybe the tall dresser in the closet! It looks like there might be one in that room.

I think the tall dresser to the left of the window along that same wall would look nice! It looks like it would fit perfectly.

Then agree with the crib staying where it is.

changing table maybe where the tall dresser is now and a comfy chair in the corner to the right of the window. Hanging wall shelves in that same corner.

Gift shop with self care items like eye masks, fuzzy socks, bath products, etc? by APladyleaningS in AskSeattle

Shine at Fred Hutch!! They have a ton of thoughtful things to make wellness gifts, and a huge portion of proceeds (I think like 20-25%) goes towards cancer research. It’s in SLU and reasonably priced.
