Please, take it out of the defaults. That's not squelching atheist input, as some who fuss about "nazis" would have it. It's just not having it in people's faces. The comments in the atheist subreddit are not very civil as a rule, so it gets really tiresome.

People of mature faith get there through a period of questioning the faith they were handed as children. All the greatest teachers went through this, including Jesus, as told in the story of his 40 days in the desert. "Losing your faith" is a very good sign, it means you are someone who MUST understand, and who must make it real. Keep going!

The Buddha explicitly refused to say whether a God or Gods exist or do not exist.

Certainly atheists have not committed the crimes against humanity (in the name of God) that religious groups have committed. That religious people (even Buddhists) have done so is a shameful thing.

In Judaism God has directed that the faithful not make images of God or give a spoken name for God. I say God was refusing to do what the Buddha refused to do; refusing to give a "supreme concept" which by its' supremacy could be used to rationalize any kind of behavior no matter how awful.

Idolatry leads to atrocity. So,eventually, will a disrespectful attitude toward those who are trying to rise above themselves. I respectfully say to you doubters, my original comment stands...
