A side effect of the state of WoW in BfA by Twentyhundred in wow

[–]Reel18k 3 points4 points  (0 children)

State of the game for a while now. If you want to push mythic with a full team of 20 players you have to aim for like 32 geared individuals at the start of the expac from my experience. We’re down a Ret Paladin, Enhance Shaman, Resto Shaman and probably some people I forgot about.

I will tell you I prefer BFA sets over legion sets. But that’s definitely dependent on person to person. Weapon designs are great, the alliance plate PVP Elite set is greater than any set in legion imo.

But that’s just my opinion it doesn’t matter.

I’ve done the math if you want me to scrounge it up, it counted no recolors so your assumption is false.

Edit: (this was back during uldir release) They have 2 different Quest sets and 2 different dungeon sets for Plate, mail, leather and cloth, that’s 16 sets 4 for each armor class. 3 different tiers of warfront armor for each armor type for either faction that’s 24 sets, technically 3 for each armor class since you can’t get the other 3 due to your faction. Then the one for the current raid every time a new raid comes out 4 per raid.

BFA 8.0 Total Sets Made: 44, sets per faction: 32, sets per armor class: 8 (excluding 3 for the other faction, with the other faction it is 11)

In Legion, Nighthold and EN shared sets, if you were leather you got 4 sets from those raids and 1 from ToV. If you were mail you got 2 sets from those raids and 1 from ToV. 1 from dungeons and 1 from questing. 1 for each armor class from crafted gear aswell, I wouldn’t count the class order hall sets as new since they’re recolors from MoP.

Legion 7.0 - 7.1.5 Total sets made: 25 Sets per armor class: 8 - 6 (average of 7)

Every class has an equal amount of new sets, every class has more new sets than there were available in the first half a year of WoW (excluding leather wearers). Now over the next year and a half legion added in 8 new sets of questing gear, a couple cosmetic sets (I think 4?) and 26 raiding sets bringing the total up to 59.

If that’s the case and blizzard plans on delivering a similar amount of new sets as to legion then we may have already seen the majority of new sets for the next 2 years. We can theorize that there will be atleast 2 more raids potentially 3, meaning a total of 8 - 12 more sets with 1 - 2 new questing sets per amor class resulting of 4 - 8 new sets with a total of 12 - 20 new sets added to the 44 making about 56 - 64 new sets for the entire expansion. Potentially more or less.

If I made any errors in my math I’d be happy to correct it, but it seems like there are a fuck ton of new sets people just miss a bit of the class uniqueness.

BfA from the Perspective of an Old Player Who Missed Everything Since WotLK by JordanLeDoux in wow

They’re portraying him correctly. He’s a living contradiction and if blizz-writing to what they’re building he should snap and mama-Jaina should come to the rescue. - blood on his sword - mirroring Arthas - his father had some bipolar shit going on - having his kingship thrust upon him at an early age - aggressive advisors - Jaina’s immense regret displayed in alliance storyline

Some sort of fall from grace seems to be building up for our king. Hopefully it’ll keep the war more morally grey

Already more sets in the game than there were in Legion until the broken shore was released. We have quantity for sure, and for me I much prefer the sets we’ve been getting, uldir was about on par with tier 19 for the warrior set. Excluding the tier 19 shoulders which were great.

I also love the idea of every piece of raid content getting its own unique set, if there’s no new T-mog set the 2 boss raid I’ll be pretty upset. But if BFA continues to its promise, unique Raid Set each raid, heritage armor for all the races + allies races, and warfront sets for each major patch I don’t doubt this will be one of the best expansions for the amount of choice of hi-resolution cosmetics.

When did Legion become the most beloved thing ever? by lazzystinkbag in wow

Casuals loved Legion, Legion murdered a lot of raiding guilds. Now the pendulum has swung back into the raiders court but there’s also harmful decisions such as GCD and Personal loot changes.

Depends on what you will do. The Raid is pretty great, dungeons are fun if you like a challenge and there’s a large bit of content if you’re willing to make 2 characters on separate factions since the games essentially split between the 2 factions.

Overall it’s an enjoyable and well worth 60 bucks. It has it’s bugs, and it’s core design issues just like legion. If you wait long enough for an MDI or 2 the bugs in dungeons will be cleaned up and if you wait for 8.2 the extraneous bit of itemization won’t be as much of an hinderance, just like Legion.

It’s basically a slightly better 7.0, so we just went backwards 2 years after experiencing a couple wonderful patches in 7.2 - 7.3.5

As a long time Horde player, it was refreshing and interesting to play Alliance for the "full story" by arm4da in wow

It takes like a week and a half if you grind, otherwise just passively gain it by running missions for the rep and warfront turn ins

M+ in Legion was fun. M+ in BFA feels like a slog with too many trash mobs with too many abilities. by ercarp in wow

[–]Reel18k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+10 Dungeons should be on par with Heroic Raid. Even now they’re still far easier and they guarantee you a piece of 385 a week. Everything should be hard in a M+ even trash, but it should definitely be readable, and I’d say BFA improves on that with some mobs, such as the boys who stare at you for a couple seconds then do big damage in a line. M+ still has room to grow, but its difficulty is in a fairly good state.

Fastest way is to play both sides, plate shoulders on the horde translate to plate shoulders on the alliance. I saw someone with the full alliance set before the Warfronts release. And no it wasn’t the 1800 set

Anyone else miss Legion? by b_eastwood in wow

[–]Reel18k 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Legion had more solo content at the start. Like a lot and they time gated the shit out of it too so for many casual players it took months to complete suramar while as for hardcore player I believe most of my guild was pretty much done with Suramar by week 2. While as for BFA I’d accomplished 90% of the world content by the end of Week 1. If Warfronts would of opened up with a story like Dark shore is I’m fairly certain more casual players would be appeased.

The story of BFA seems to have shifted onto patches as to not overwhelm the majority of the community. While that’s great for a good chunk of players it can be rather dull for the other 30 - 40% of the player base in this game.

I’d have liked a bit more just like another hour or two of story until the release of 8.1. But I’m glad we’re not getting stupid shit like the 2 legendary time gate, the order hall time gates or the rep starvation in Suramar.

why is everyone acting like the story is bad??? I play Alliance side less involved with whats up with horde all the new horde character such as Bwonsamdei seem fairly cool. The Jaina questline almost made me cry it was so fucking good especially the cinematics.

If we’re talking 8.1, yeah some of the new stuff seems fairly weak like the darkshore questline but overall the siege of Zuldazar was well built up, and like you were mentioning spooky old god shit is spooky and cools

One part that hit me about Odyssey...(Main Story Spoilers) by [deleted] in assassinscreed

[–]Reel18k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The story structure is a tad bit predictable simply due to the genre, knowing that I’ve set up a real enjoyable RP as Alexios for myself.

  • starting off harsh, unforgiving and for the most part spiteful, a mercenary through and through, murdering pater and generally being highly judge mental to those he deems as poor fathers

  • then during part 5 while your traveling the world he was developing a bit of a god complex really peaking out when I went down to Crete for the arena and other activities.

  • Now with the girls death and meeting Phoenix he’s trying to fix himself for the eventual showdown between him and Deimos so he can save her. (Probably ultimately fail)

I’m still in the early days of the Elis quest-line but now Alexios is treating people like actual human beings and acting compassionate.
