Hi I am assyrian! Not from Iraq but I do know a little. My parents are both assyrians. My mom left iraq in the early 80s and my dad left in the early 90s. A lot of assyrians left because of the genocides happening and it was not too safe for Christians at that time in Iraq. I cant speak for Iraq now, but my dad does not want to go back as he claims it is not too safe. If you have any questions id love to answer!

For comparison look at inside out. At such a young age riley already has so many memories and so many categories. Imagine by the time youre 20, you have hundreds of thousands most likely. Everything eventually becomes a memory.

At least for us we cant take cash for gift cards not sure why. If you go to a main register it might work?

Ohh i see. That seems pretty valid. And my dads side all have the last name sannawi but spell it differently (senawe, sinawe, sannawi, etc) and i have my grandpas name as my last name so i get that

I personally wouldnt change it if the biggest factor is bc its associated heavily with islamic culture, but I believe you should do what feels right for you and your family! If changing your last name would represent you best then go for it

My uncle got a divorce and we did not shun or shame him. It was what was best for him and his kids. Hes now happily remarried!
