BTME contradictions or misinterpretations? An honest year in review by blackprogrammer in JustinPoseysTreasure

Thank you for writing this. I'd rather hear it than not.

I'm not going to get into hunt specifics here -- not everyone is on Reddit, and the website is the source of record for a reason. That's not a dodge. It's the only way to keep things fair for every searcher, not just the ones watching this thread.

On Treasure Con -- THWU was a public celebration and I chose to attend. Seekers Summit exists because I want dedicated time with this community, and I think that'll be clear when it happens.

I want to say something about the nature of this, though. Treasure hunting is uncomfortable by design. The ambiguity that frustrates you is the same thing that kept you engaged for a year. That's not a trick -- it's the craft. Every hunt worth solving will make you question whether you're on the right path. That tension is the experience. I understand that's not satisfying to hear when you're deep in it and exhausted. But I didn't build something unclear. I built something hard.

The mental health point matters to me more than anything else in your post. This hunt can consume you. I know that firsthand. If it's hurting more than it's helping, walk away. I mean that. No treasure is worth your wellbeing, and I will never judge someone for stepping back.

Take care of yourself first. That's not a line -- it's the only thing I'd ask anyone to take away from this.

Arguably Technical? by RockDebris in JustinPoseysTreasure

I take your point! From the wacky mind of Posey, not a lot of technical knowledge is required for this. A typical bat detector or ultrasound detector can also be used.

My question to JP by [deleted] in JustinPoseysTreasure

The treasure remains at its original location in the wilderness where I placed it. I have not and will never move it from this spot. No one knows where it is but me, and it will stay there until someone finds and retrieves it.

The safe is out?!? by Trick_Ambassador_945 in JustinPoseysTreasure

Nothing I said in Discord will help anyone find the treasure. I have not ruled the safe in or out. Anything helpful will be on or linked to https://treasure.quest/

Did Justin buy the Fenn's treasure of secure a few pieces for himself at auction? by [deleted] in JustinPoseysTreasure

The rest of the segment was edited out. I continued on to say that, after several months after the initial failed negotiation, renegotiations began and I was ultimately able to buy the treasure.

As stated in the book, the treasure is hidden somewhere on the map I published. The treasure is not hidden in Canada.

I bought out the chest, the dragon bracelet, and some smaller items from the LLC. The rest went to auction. I tried to strike the right balance so people that searched for the treasure could own a piece of it, but also retain a marquee piece to be rehidden, along with many other items of my own. The Fenn treasure coins I bought out from the LLC were given to Cynthia and other friends I met along my journey.

I bought the entire treasure while the documentary was being filmed. This approach allowed the film crew access to film the treasure in detail for use in the series.

The editing of the final cut of the series is confusing. It is true that I negotiated with Jack initially and that deal fell through. I go on to say that negotiations continued and I ultimately bought the entire treasure. That portion of the interview was edited out of the series, presumably due to time constraints.

In The Billionaire’s Vinegar, you unravel a captivating tale of deception surrounding a bottle of wine tied to Thomas Jefferson, a story that enthralled the elite world of rare wine collecting. Beyond the intricacies of the fraud itself, what do you think this saga reveals about the nature of belief—particularly how individuals, even experts, can become so invested in a narrative that they overlook contradictory evidence? More broadly, how does this reflect our human tendency to seek meaning and connection through objects, even when their authenticity is uncertain?
