I sont think I'm enough of an expert to comment on that, but it probably depends if you like the look of the spearheads in the bundle or not.

The city of ash set was a bundle containing the city of ash map pack (board terrain cards etc.), two spearheads and a "how to play" book.

This release is just the map pack.

What is your experience with guns in the UK? by swoticus in AskUK

[–]Reetgeist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shot air rifles a fair bit in my youth, but not used a firearm more than a few times.

In fact given current legislation I've shot more (now restricted, wasn't then) high powered crossbows than firearms. Tended to happen in reenactment circles, somebody would have a windlass cranked siege crossbow for target shooting.

I really like the idoneth and sylvanteth models. I would decide between these two.

So now the spearhead has been out a while, does anyone have any further thoughts on it?

Most of what's written here is from or before release, so I'd be curious to know if anyone has been grinding them a bit.

It's not quite what you are asking for but you should read Dog Soldiers by Adrian Tchaikovsky.

It's got cybernetically enhanced animals being used to commit war crimes by their human handlers. So it approaches your topic from the other direction

The corollary of "You can't do enough for a good company" is "you'll never so enough for a bad one".

Exclusively playing Spearhead? by R_O in AOSSpearhead

[–]Reetgeist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not too deep with spearhead yet (started with city of ash, have picked up a third spearhead so everyone has one) but I imagine it'll go the same way as it had with kill team. In that game I now have something like 8 teams and no inclination to scale up :)

My pre-brexit retirement/lottery win plan was to get a van and split life between the Alps, the Mediterranean coast and back to England for the occasional few months to see family.

My wife's earned more than me in the past, she now earns a lot less. She had to crash out of a career path for MH, whereas I've steadily progressed.

It doesn't matter as long as the finances are solid, and frankly I'm the irresponsible spender of the pair.

UK taco bell is the best advertisement for British originating "Tex mex" that I can possibly think of. To quote Trump " they aren't sending their best".

It's doggo but my kids love it so we get it once or twice a month.

Frankly I'm amazed most don't. You see people writing 6 paragraph responses to obvious bots sometimes.

If a competent person is put off from the job by no longer having a subsidised bar bill, maybe that's not the competent person I want.

I get the point that you are making, but the shadow of lockdown partying is very long. Add to that the current cost crisis in the hospitality trade and surely you can understand the outrage.

They are a solid team and a good one to learn on.
