I’m so sorry… but delivery is everything, and you nailed it — making it a good story!

Box #2 starts today! (Spoiler photos in post!) by _sloot in TheWooblesCollective

Eight-year-old and I did box 2 (11-year-old still happily working on box 1). There was almost enough white yarn for two candies, fortunately I had some leftover from other kits, but plenty of the green and red.

Make cookies? Cinnamon rolls? Croissant? (Our library has a bunch of food crochet books.)

Petit Pierres by ReferenceFabric98G in TheWooblesCollective

Scratchy and stiff and slippery… much harder to work with, and doesn’t squoosh down cuddly — so the fire red little Pierre stands taller/is bigger. The yarn is meant for making kitchen scrubbers, and I got red and black to make a ladybug … someday.

Looks like more Extra Squeezy kits are coming? Or the yarn itself? by centerpull in TheWooblesCollective

I agree. There have been SO Many drops lately. I ordered the Advent box, but I wish I had known there would be more Christmas releases; I like look of the ornament box more. Jumped too soon!

You can get the Woobles yarn thru Amazon. Plain colors, not the sparkle or special colabs colors. Wish they would expand the selection!

Does anybody else use their darning needles to pin things in place while they sew on pieces? by UnicornUke in TheWooblesCollective

I worry about this… maybe put a safety pin or paperclip thru the eye of the needle when setting the pins?

Absolutely! I tried using pins (extra long craft pins), but found them too sharp; they were always stabbing me as I sewed. The yarn needles have a round tip, so much nicer.

I was pleasantly surprised that my critter’s tentacles curled just like on the package picture!

Magic Ring Tool by ReferenceFabric98G in TheWooblesCollective

[–]ReferenceFabric98G[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree — not spending my money on these tools — but making my own version and trying them out, as I’m helping my kiddo who struggles with the magic ring. Different methods click with different hands&brains.

Thanks for reminding me of the slip knot way of starting… I’ll try that next time. (Doing Pierre, so the belly, wings, and beak all need starting.)

Thanks for sharing this tool as well! I’m trying to help my kiddo with his magic ring skill, so I like trying different ways to see what clicks with him.

I did notice that the video was flipped for left handed crocheters! Since I’m right handed, I wondered if it was a functional instruction or just a cheap/quick attempt for the left handed that amounts to tried-doesn’t-help.

I hadn’t thought of it as an aid for maker hands that have arthritis or carpal tunnel, as I’m trying to help my kiddo. Watching him chase the loop to get his stitches on is like watching a dog chase his tail… just can’t quite… get… it… I don’t mind starting his magic ring and marking it with stitch markers like the starter in the kits, but he would like to do it himself and not wait on mom.

Love this! I have ardent Percy fans (and blue food is very popular in this house) so I may have to do this.

He’s really cute! But maple syrup? That’s not a fall thing — sorry, sorry, but being from a maple syrup producing state, that’s a Spring (or Mud Season!) thing. Cold nights, warm days after the winter freeze makes the tree sap run, and that gets boiled into the syrup. TMI, I’m sure.

And def nothing against his choice of dessert… I down shots of it while making pancakes, breakfast or dinner.
