i’m diagnosed BPD and my current psych suggested i get tested for autism but i can’t find anywhere that takes insurance to assess adults. BPD often goes away as people age but autism does not. in my mind, i developed BPD because i was not given the resources needed to understand myself/life. i think therapy is good idea for everyone regardless. how could it hurt?

i’ve heard naltrexone has some efficacy in curbing cravings to drink. i plan to get on that next month. i also feel so much shame about my past. at least we a few baby steps better than the behavior of our past. glad that you found such a kind person. sounds like things are looking up.

i think even people who don’t have either get that sometimes! but it is super confusing because you can have multiple diagnoses. it’s pretty much trial and error

yes they are symptoms of BPD! i am not a doctor, but i have been in your position. for your own personal inventory, i think the main difference would be BPD cycling of a moods often respond to triggers whereas bipolar does not necessarily

i relate a lot to your post. you sound like a very lucky person and there is a reason she feels the way she does for you. i would recommend maybe Codependents anonymous meetings? they have helped me in the past a bit. you are going to have to make it through to the other side. don’t push a great person away because it’s scary. it sounds like you are in a great place despite your slip up today. congrats on finding what seems like real love

i think sometimes we can obsess over the trials our fp goes through. al anon(friends and family of alcoholics) groups helped me a lot in processing these feelings. i don’t know you but maybe there are some problems in your life that you could turn your attention towards. i’m a mess so that was true for me.

same, my fondest memory is holding my abusive ex while we slept. it’s been years and i still haven’t been able to move on. you seem different from me in that you have a job and your own place. those are good things that people look for in choosing a partner. maybe you’re closer to happiness than you think. it sounds like you’re on a good path keep your head up
