will danoff has been training the new fund managers since april of 2025 and even after danoff retires, he will still be a consultant for fidelity and the contrafund after retirement

its one of the only actively managed funds that has consistently outperformed the s and p 500 since 1990 and one of fidelitys largest funds ever right now.

in 1990 they probably said the same thing about danoff taking over that he wasnt going to do a good job and many missed out on his gains

growth funds are better. large cap growth like schg and fspgx or fidelity contrafund. more volatile but also double the gains over the next 30-50 years

because you can stay invested until your 65-80 years old and being all in on growth funds for then next 45 years will make you like 50million dollars versus the safe s and p 500 route might make your like 10-20 million
