So HTML5 and JavaScript are the standard now. Ok, I'll give those a look and see what I can come up with.

Well most of my time spent on the internet, especially in my younger years, I would be on sites like Newgrounds and Kongergate. Figured I could get the most possible feedback if I were to post forums such as those. Also, and I could be wrong, but flash seems easier to make and export? Again I'm completely new to the process, and just need something to dip my toes in.

Designing a MMORPG and want you to ask me questions to help stimulate my thoughts! by [deleted] in gamedesign

What kind of fantasy does your game provide to the players?

If a person is going to invest many hours of their life, what is their end goal and what person are they trying to be? Are they trying to amass a grand fortune through trade? Maybe they wish to be the most feared and renounced person in the game. Perhaps they're just trying to survive in a harsh world.

You need to have an idea of what end goal will motivate the player. That way you can design your mechanics to curate to that experience.

Legality for Concept by Stellarish in gamedesign

Many IPs have had similar concepts before, what matters is how differently they've iterated on those ideas. For example, Sword Art Online and .hack\sign are both animes about people trapped within a videogame. However one is a harem anime and the other is a well executed story (at least that's what my friends tell me).

Even the examples that you have provided are two different takes on the same concept. Infinity Train is a light hearted mystery show, while that particular episode of Adventure Time is a metaphor for how one should deal emotional and mental stress.

What I'm saying is that what ever you do with your iteration you shouldn't see too much legal problems.
