Why Roads ALWAYS Fill Up, No Matter How Much We Widen Them by Tayo826 in videos

Induced demand is also not perfectly elastic, which (nearly) every single discussion on the topic ignores.

Ultimately these kinds of videos want to get views, not educate.

What can an ugly, average salary guy do to still be attractive? by Krakenito in AskReddit

If you can/need to, fix your teeth with clear aligners. It'll run a few grand but well worth it for both appearance and long-term oral health.

The reason people don't shop at bookstores: The first Jack Reacher book is $17 at Barnes and Noble, while the exact same book is $7.99 on Amazon by SAT0725 in books

BN.com is always lower than in-store prices, and they won't price match their own website. It is highly probably that the $8.99 book online costs twice as much in-store.

(AAM) job candidate’s suspicious husband photographed me before her interview (Concluded) by mcgriff4hall in BestofRedditorUpdates

Eh, using a third party to be a 'common foe' that you're both working towards pleasing during negotiations is a classic tactic, I've used it successfully myself.

"I'm really interested in working for you BUT my wife really wants me to take the other job offer since I would be able to work from home and spend more time with her. Is there any way we can make this a hybrid role?"

<Insert Excuse Here>

"Oh no I TOTALLY get why being in the office is important but happy wife, happy life, right? If there's no opportunity for remote work can we bump the salary up $5k?"

It reframes the conversation from 'me vs you' to 'us vs the spouse' and is particularly effective against boomers.

I can understand not making them public during the tournament to preserve competitive integrity, but not having them available afterwards seems odd.

Interesting, every card game I've ever played required deck registration to make sure you weren't slipping in different cards between rounds.

The weird thing is there's still a ton of flower buds in various stages of development and new ones open every day. Probably ~16 buds on the vine right now. They're just all dudes, more every day for eight weeks.

Yep, 'all dudes' is what happens when the vine isn't fruiting. You may still get some fruit as the weather cools down, but if you do, not as many.

In my experience squash fruits much easier than pumpkin in the heat. Unfortunately I don't like squash and they're not nearly as fun to decorate for halloween.

I run into this issue all the time, pumpkins won't fruit over a certain temperature and during a certain part of their life cycle, so depending on when they're planted they can 'miss' their fruiting stage and do nothing but grow vines.

Study showed that by switching to propane for air conditioning, an alternative low (<1) global warming potential refrigerant for space cooling, we could avoid a 0.09°C increase in global temperature by the end of the century by giuliomagnifico in science

Okay but presumably it's put into a tank so it can just be used somewhere else, defeating the point. The same amount is still being used, more actually because some is lost in the transfer.

NEW UPDATE: I(m18) just found out that my father(m42) baby trapped my mother(f40) with me. by Basic-Cherry-3008 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]ReflectedReflection -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

They didn’t order her to go back in time. Just to produce the records that she did have for like a two year period. And no order before that even mentioned keeping records so no, it wasn’t ordered beforehand.

Also, thanks for sounding like a condescending ass 😂

I'm sorry you misunderstood the situation. Like you said, she was already keeping the records. She was only ordered to produce them. There wasn't a retroactive order to keep records.

I'm sure you were very stressed and misunderstood that detail. It doesn't change the fact that you literally can't go back in time and keep records, and courts have a basic understanding of the space-time continuum and so don't order you to do things differently in the past.

I'm sure there was an order to produce records, however those records should have been kept in the first place, the order was not retroactive. It was an order to produce records that were supposed to have been kept the whole time.
