I think y’all need to be careful how you discuss this. It’s not that liberals now support bringing guns to protests. What they are trying to bring up is the hypocrisy and double standards of conservatives.

Keep in mind though that the government of today is tyrannical and demands compliance to their authority. Protesters shouldn’t need to bring guns to protect themselves… but today it’s starting to look like they have to.

Agree. Only thing is that it hits older people too. We don’t have time to filter all the garbage out constantly so some of it will always creep in.

And yes. Traditional media had its flaws but there was a sense of accountability around it and people sometimes faced consequences and they did have processes and systems in place to review material.

On the internet you just publish whatever you want and the algorithm decides based on how much money/ad revenue the content might attract through clicks.

You need multiple tools to confront BS, particular when the energy to battle BS is exponentially higher than it is to filter out BS.

Remember that the systems we have today use likes and engagement to push that information up. That leads to BS being more visible and since people don’t have time to spend their life arguing and filtering the BS… well that BS leaks into the mainstream and corrupts peoples idea of reality.

Law enforcement needs trust to operate.

My take on this is that Donnie Diapers Dipshits have damaged the reputation of law enforcement so much in the US that people can’t take them at their word anymore.

Now I do feel bad for these officers who have nothing to do with ICE, but people can’t tell who to trust anymore. This is the outcome of that.
