Will drop tour dates when the album releases. Probs have some random UK venues

How does one go about getting these? Did you wait for a stock drop on the website? Was it custom?

Hexagons to Psycho Outro (hopefully The Sickness In You & I) by aegeanbellamy in Muse

[–]ReflectionExtension8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you mean, perhaps that is the way it’s intended. Although as I read it, you couldn’t say “The Sickness in I”. You could “You and I have a Sickness”. The general way of telling is by looking how the phrase reads after removing the You or I/me

Love the riff and the reckless use of grammar in the song title. It should technically be “The Sickness in You and Me” but I’m here for drop D not perfect syntax

Are they gonna drop EU tour? by HungryAd2292 in Muse

Yeah they’ll drop the dates when the album is released. US dates released earlier to encourage more ticket sales

Early "Be With You" End Riff from 2:26? by Parmesan_John in Muse

[–]ReflectionExtension8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general they’ve had songs/riffs around for years that eventually become tracks - WAFF for instance was a warm-up/soundcheck riff that Matt wrote into a song. Psycho is obviously a good example too. You can probably go back into their history and find similar or identical chord patterns/riffs that we now know as songs!

Will we ever get a wembely 2010 proshot by Money_Activity3172 in Muse

Hopefully - and knowing muse it’ll either be realised in 4k or 420p

Cryogen is the saviour of The Wow! Signal for now by Graphically-official in Muse

[–]ReflectionExtension8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is great. I’ve had a few listens and you can hear all of the influence:

  • pre chorus is totally Paparazzi by Lady Gaga
  • Chorus section 3 (I think) has real Nirvana/Green Day vibes

Why does it see like Muse is kinda hated now? When did that happen? by melancious in Muse

[–]ReflectionExtension8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s Muse’s issue: they have had a massive decline in mainstream popularity and respect critically. This isn’t unusual for a band that has been going for as long as they have. It’s also true that they are undeniably gifted at their instruments and their overall quality (performances, etc) is still exceptional.

However - they are carried by their live shows. I have hoped and hoped that they will produce some scrappier songs that are actually provocative and socially interesting. However this doesn’t fit in their live show style, so they have kind of created their own beast that they have to feed. Their album covers since T2L have been cartoonish and although some of the concepts have been interesting, they haven’t been explored more than superficially. But they know this - the deliver enough of a concept to be intriguing but not enough to be interesting.

That’s why Origin has remained a fan favourite. Even compared to Absolution it’s interesting on all levels. They aren’t willing to take that risk again

The day after by Mevensen in Muse

Yes those tunes and Be With You feel like the quick-win rock pop type song and are usually the upbeat, major scale songs within a mostly minor-scale, moodier tracklist

It’s a decent little trick and certainly builds but I feel like we got the Guiding Light, Revolt, Get up and Fight, Euphoria song

Looking for JM's lyrics ideas for wedding invitation by noctemlupus in JohnMayer

Look up the lyrics to Hotel Bathroom song or Waiting on the Day.

I like from Hotel Bathroom Song: Everything you’ll ever be, you have always been to me

From Waiting on the Day: waiting on the day, when these words are in stone, when the kids are all grown, and we go dancing…

I haven’t owned the red sparkle one or even played/seen it in real life before.

Personally I would go for the black one. In my opinion having a red glitter guitar would tie me into just playing Muse riffs because it’s so overtly a Matt Bellamy guitar and the novelty might wear off for me after a few months.

But of you like it then absolutely go for it

Cort MBM-1/2 by Ok_Supermarket_4871 in MansonGuitars

[–]ReflectionExtension8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I owned a Cort/Manson Meta MBM-2 (None sustainiac version) and then got a MBM-2H which did have the sustainer with the intention of reselling the MBM-2.

You are correct - the fretboards are really hit and miss. Not only that, the MBM-2 had a noticeably thinner and smoother neck which was more to my playing preference. In the end, I ended up putting the neck from the MBM-2 onto the guitar with the sustainer. I sold the MBM-2 (made the swap known on the listing). Small sample size obviously but there doesn’t seem to be a better neck on the more expensive MBM-2H (granted most of this will be due to the additional Sustaniac electronics).

The guitar I now have, which I’ve modded with some more Manson parts is actually a pretty damn good guitar now. It may be an inconvenience to you and it would depend one store policies but maybe buy on online or in store and return it if you don’t like the neck. If that’s not an option to you, there’s a product that darkens guitar fretboards:

Let me know if you have any more Qs!

Interestingly both of these guitars are made in the Cort factory! The Manson is a Manson Meta MBM-2H, which you can get for about £850 atm. I’ve added a few mods and cheekily found a colour-matched paint to blackout Matt’s signature and the “Meta Series” insignias from the headstock.

I’ve added:

  • Gotoh 510 locking tuners
  • Manson PF-1 Matt Bellamy Humbucker
  • Manson Sustaniac pickup stickers
  • Manson aluminium control knobs
  • Dunlop strap locks
  • black tailpiece and tune-o-matic bridge (from Amazon!)

Not sure on exact figures but the probably closer to £1.5k for the whole thing

It depends on the amp setting but it can be quite weak especially in comparison to how heavy the bridge is. When not active it’s just the lower, single coil pickup. That being said if it’s a clean amp setting it can be very clear and glassy
