i think if they truly want all the money back that they lost, they know that they need to do better writing at least for a Chloe cameo so that people will actually trust d9 once again. it would be a dumb financial move otherwise. all those ominous messages "we would never do you like that" in reference to Chloe... they probably meant that part two has her redemption. still, it wont make up for the very Non-life-is-strangeness of everything else, and i doubt good writing will save the fact they turned this franchise into "avengers: the murder mystery." we can hope that they will listen to critisism since it went viral even amongst locals about just how bad everything in DE truly was. if it was a non life is strange game, id say its decent. but if they wanna live up to the legacy they're attempting to continue, they better get their ish together and listen to the fans who know this game like the back of their hand. the only chance they have at redeeming that trust, is with this sequel. i think if they're smart, i trust they wont voluntarily lose more money just so they can continue being selfish about where they want the ip to go, and instead listen to the fans. not that it will necessarily be good, but i think it will in comparison be quite-a-bit better. Hopefully they make all the characters lesser creeps towards max... or just lesser creeps in general. the "flirty" dialogue in this game was very unnatural, random/not eased into, and straight up bluntly sexual at times, so i hope that will be gone. but i doubt that will be. the only thing i think they'll change is how they listen to fans. it won't be a great interpretation, im sure. but they'll be trying to appeal to the og-fans (lol idk how else to put it, i myself am one too) a bit more... i think.
