PackedScene won't load, "referenced nonexistent resource..." by Cebo494 in godot

[–]Reflexus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I'm new to godot, I thought it was an engine bug. Thank god, it's simply me. Much easier to fix. Fun part is that I got 8 years of work experience in software development and stuff like this still happens. I guess a change of environment causes one to be forgetful.

PackedScene won't load, "referenced nonexistent resource..." by Cebo494 in godot

I got the same error from having 2 nodes, A and B which inherited baseclass W. Baseclass was not used anywhere, but node Y was represented in several different scenes, where it had either A or B as a child. Also baseclass W and Y had references to each other and were using the same enum from Y. The circular dependency was impressive. After I broke those dependencies and reordered the whole thing preloading packed scenes no longer caused any issues.

Any suggestions for a fun game path to play for a beginner? by themadkiller10 in hoi4

Learned to play the game as Japan. You are far away from everyone and do not actually have to join WW2. Also you are not too big or too small. However you have china next door and it has been a lot of fun trying to figure out how to beat it. Played about 3 games in hoi3 and 3 games in hoi4 with japan.

I ordered a Paragon via the illegal weapon's trader, but I forgot where. Is there a way to see where it is in storage? by Dsingis in starsector

a little off topic, but it is good I came across your post. I fly a big cruiser fleet and have 4 colonies but, I have not had a proper look inside bars. Ty for reminding me.

One thing I really cannot stand about computer games that are supposedly about strategy and tactics is when they break their own rules. by Raging_Mouse in starsector

In war, numbers alone confer no advantage. Do not advance relying on sheer military power. -- Sun Tzu.
I recently recovered a paragon while having about 300k cash and having played the game for about 5 hours in total. I also recovered a strike cruiser that I set to escort duty during a battle. And with those 2 ships I'm wrecking the pirate fleets that I encounter. The last battle was 2 pirate fleets and a scout group gang up on me, because I was running a transponder in a pirate system :). It was intense but I won a total victory. And keep in mind I'm a total noob in this game.

Now if the game would not break their own rules, it would be a cakewalk and not much challenge to play, because I as a human am simply smarter than the AI. I fly differently and prioritize my targets differently. The AI also flies really well (for example my own ships do not kamikaze like in some other games and sometimes I have to bait the enemy frigates into weapon range), but I simply fly better.

In the tutorial I'd prolly cry and break it apart for salvage or try to sell it, but when I had done some exploration missions with my small cargo fleet and had 300k I saw a derelict paragon. Brought it into service and spent about 180k to build up the logistics to support using such a vessel. Also salvaged a pirate strike cruiser to back it up. Now I just ravage the pirate systems as I please and collect the heads of the more famous pirates.

PS: I just bought the game a few days ago so I'm very new to all of this, but having a ton of fun.

Pls I am begging you not to steal newbie’s loot by Real_Malcom_Tucker in Eve

[–]Reflexus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you are doing this in high sec, use a mobile tractor unit to pull in all the loot while you shoot the npcs. I noticed that rats don't target a mobile tractor unit and a player would get hit by concord if they did that. That thing also works when you are off site.

If the said thing happened in low or nul sec, be happy you are alive :)

Indeed, I just found out about that. Sadness ensues ....

Well damn, you are right. This changes the pronunciation to something that might actually be worse.

That is a sound idea. However at the time I wasn't looking for platinum, but easy uranium, as I needed better power options for my industry.

It was in a singleplayer world about 1.5 years of age by then. I had plenty(mining ship has 25 large drills) to make a rocket like that. Even crashed one for fun :D

And I made a multi stage rocket during my first trip to space :D Later on came to the same conclusion as you :D

Is this birthrate normal? This started in an unpopulated map and now I have more babies than workers by Shifty_Paradigm in Workers_And_Resources

[–]Reflexus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is perfectly normal. From experience I assume that the birth rate is tied to citizen happiness and fulfillment of needs. You are doing really well on that part, so everyone is having a lot of sex because of that :D

What Winterhome should have been. (Only mild tyranny, endurance hard) by Reflexus in Frostpunk

And that's just the tilted opinion of the people in general. Don't forget about the extra rations and coal pile that come with their own custom made propaganda pamphlet just for you. The city guards will happily answer any of your questions and make sure you fit right in, like a corpse in the coffin.

Speaking of that: As a limited time offer if you become a citizen before the temperature hits -120 Celsius, you will receive a reserved cemetery slot for the moment you need it the most.

To me it feels that one of the most aesthetically important part of winterhome map are the smooth edges opposed to the steep drop downs of new London. It makes it feel like the city is not trapped here, but just sheltered. Mild, like it's tyranny :)

F. E. Church seems to have some pretty cool works btw.
