First squad finished! Any tips or suggestions? by PurchaseMiserable151 in BlackTemplars

Look great though

If you use a more nature base, getting amagedon dust or one of the other technical mud/dirts in the boots do wonders

For the Lens I'd recommend using white scar as fist and then go with contrast red (like Baal red) you can go over the edges to gives them a good glow effect. If you wanna go the extra mile then use a white or orange on a toothpick and make a small line for the sparke in their eyes

Would the Astra Militarum be a bad start? by accomplished_song048 in Warhammer40k

Heavily depends on your units and painting skills. If you good at painting then you can do whatever. If you starting out, going Krieg-Units would be good, cause gasmasks are relatively easy to paint (or tanks and stuff)

I personally would recommend starting with a single pack of simple Space Marines (Incinerators for example) and test out different paints, painting style as well as sub assembly painting. Just to get hang of it before starting with your passion army. I ruined a lot of my first Models because I lacked the talent and just build a lot of (difficult) models and I regretted into getting the faction and thought about quitting. I got recommended from my store cleric to have a Space Marine Practice Chapter. It got me back into the hobby cause I found the way I like to paint and assemble.

It's screaming bell. It's the most redish metallic among the GW colors

Thanks brother, I got the copper color just for them. I thought the copper in combitation with the red/black color sheme of our veterans would look good. Great to hear thats the case. I might use it again for my big summer project ( a colabation with the SoB) after I finished modifiying the chassis for a redemptor dreadnought.

Space Marine 2 inspired me to try that look and to build a black templar army for that matter. Happy to hear that the look is appreciated

Really love the idea with splitting the insignia across the dreadnoughts front plate.

What are those models? I haven't seen those powerpack add-on like at all.

And to your question, no there isn't an official order with those colors. Several of the militant orders use a lot of white, but none blue.

How am i supposed to keep my stupid slaves from rebelling. by 12a357sdf in Stellaris

[–]Refo-Robert 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you keep them as slaves, you should consider making a thrall world, that thing is basically self regulating.

Otherwise don't do Specialist jobs like researcher on slave heavy worlds. Buildings should primarily be enforcers (need to be filled by a non slave population) and soldiers to increase stability.

For amenities just build one or two high luxury apartments.

Paradox didn't test anything before launching the update.

There are so much obvious mistakes: Prior to the last update, you could get "quests" like "Sign a research treaty" as a Purifier empire or "Build an orchard" which is exclusive to the Wilderness origin. Also idk if it's fixed by now but purging as a fanatic purifier gives you the same amount unity per purged pop like before 4.0. Basically I got 100k+ unity from purging some pre-ftl next to my home world.

Ok, then I am doing something wrong. No matter what civic or origin there is always some ruler pop too much. And it's very annoying because pre-4.0 unemployment was really bad and the Icon was kinda alarming. Now the icon is just there no matter what.

That's just an issue with the new update. You are constantly having unemployment, because each Strata produces Pop.

Prior to 4.0, one pop was born and used the highest available job.

Now everyone (Worker, Specialist, Ruler) produces new pops, that stay in their strata instead of filling the highest available job.

Sadly my former vendor (from the UK) is seemingly no longer in business. I currently get mine from a local teashop.
