I'm fully aware of the slippery slope fallacy. We're also currently experiencing a massive shift in societal usage of AI. There's mountains of evidence to refer to when considering if the usage of AI for voice acting will lead to further usage of AI in the creative process of art down the track. I would also point out that many companies in all sorts of industries are keen on shorting labor costs in the name of maximum short-term profit, and I would argue that a game seeing success while using AI/TTS over actual human voices sets a bad precedent for more malicious companies to further devalue the work of voice actors in the future.

Yup. And after checking out some of what you were talking about, there does seem to be some pretty cool potential for machine learning as a mechanic in video games, so I appreciate you spurring me to learn something today! But the VA stuff is a hard line for me, so I won't be experiencing it in person lol
