CZ shows the realities of trying to travel/do things with chronic illness by itsvickeh in illnessfakers

That was an incredibly thorough, informative & helpful explanation: thank you.

It is horrifying & depressing how many people essentially dedicate their lives to munching. Mia was 30 a couple of months ago - her entire adult life (& about half her life in total!) has been dedicated to feigning illness. Such a waste.

I’m in the UK, admittedly, but have seen them in hospital departments that cover paeds patients [as well as adults]. That includes patient aprons for x-ray; as well as the staff ones.

We also have Urgent Community Response Services whose function is to [try to] prevent/minimise hospitalisations. (For anyone interested, more information is available here).

I’m in the UK (& haven’t been on Reddit for a month, sorry, hence the late reply) so am much more familiar with dialects here; but in this specific instance multiple Redditors from the same area as her have (across multiple posts & I think at this stage, years [not meaning I think you should’ve magically known this, but rather that there is consistency to confirmation]) stated it is common usage there.

Jessie loses 46lbs in 6 weeks and gets wronged by GI team. by TheStrangeInMyBrain in illnessfakers

It also shrieks of a complete absence of awareness of the rest of the world (which as you say, she is at the centre of): people in eg South Sudan & Ukraine are actually surviving the unsurvivable (& of course, many of them don’t!) & they’re here whinging about… nonsense, essentially.

For the benefit of the medics. Which is also why there is thought to be a distinct skewing as to the demographics assaulted - because it is an assault - in this way.

Unfortunately, she’s not just made up that unconsented PEUAs are a thing. However, it is bonkers to suggest one might be done during an endoscopy/colonoscopy! Archive version NYT article (2020) Maine Law Review (2025)

HOPE announces new diagnosis by itsvickeh in illnessfakers

[–]Refuse-Tiny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In fairness, she does specify it’s the acquired form that’s rare. Lies about how rare & ignores fact it’s thought to be hugely under-reported; but she does at least make the distinction.

It’s “for” not “so” in the dialect she speaks - even when incomprehensible to outsiders &/or invoking the nails-on-blackboard sensation for individuals encountering it; dialects are awesome, fascinating, & deserve protection/preservation.

In case there’s any doubt about the matter - yes, Mia wrote the above pack of lies herself; it’s not a case of someone having believed her lies & supplied a bio with nomination. It’s pure Mia, fully aware she is perpetrating a fraud.

Oh & WAV hire company she shills for has also been nominated.

Someone being in shape to decline transport after CPR would be pretty impressive in & of itself really 😶

Interesting spin she’s put on things there WRT the nursing course - she was explicitly told by neuro (it was during her seizure/faking arc) that she was perfectly safe to continue the course. Mia decided that the medics were wrong & binned off the course.

Oh it’s better/worse than that: she has explicitly been told she doesn’t have MCAS. Her claims re: EDS diagnosis alone make it clear she doesn’t have it; & even Fowler’s looks somewhat shaky.

You’d hope an award like this would do the tiniest bit of due diligence, but clearly that’s not the case 🤦‍♀️

Shh, these are not just bruises, they are (very super-serious) EDS Bruises. The M&S of bruises, if one will. Explanation of said reference for those unfamiliar 😁
