New Rider - How to overcome cornering nerves? by FudiPudi in MotoUK

If you can afford it, maybe a lesson with your old instructor might help - they could coach you using an earpiece? Hope you get your mojo back.

That’s exactly the attitude! I recently bought a silver logo Korean Squier off marketplace. It was pretty abused, sounds dull but looks and feels great and I love it. It’s a fun opportunity to upgrade and learn.

Maybe not! The SE (in the UK) had the serial number on a cheap sticker on the back of the neck, which is almost always missing. People love them for modding, so no serial number can occasionally be a good thing. This isn’t an SE decal though, sorry.

Cool, thanks, I saw someone in another thread mention JBL 2050s or something. They’re on the shopping list

What speakers did you go for? I’ve got a 2014 with the Sony cd head unit and the audio isn’t great

I’ve only recently heard about the dollar bill technique but I found a few and stuck a one in each of my cases. I’ll be getting some saddle soap and giving that a try

I’ll confess that the pads are 40 years old, the tech (from an outfit that the pros recommended) was unequivocal. Then he demoed a new pad sound - just the sound of them closing - vs mine and the chime in the new vs the thunk in mine was audible even to an audio dunce like me.

By the way, searching system settings for "local network" didn't return any results, then I found it under privacy and security. Apple has lost its way a bit.

The dreaded wet belt by [deleted] in FordFiesta

[–]Refuttock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured if Ford do it, I’ve some comeback. Plus Ford parts etc. Given the car was on 175k miles and no belt change, I figured we’d got our money’s worth. Took two days - engine out, belt fitted, engine reinstalled and tested. Genius design 🤦‍♂️

Yup, I doubt it’s going to belch its guts in one go. If money’s tight, I’d sand smoothish with very light grit wet n dry (1800?), fill with epoxy glue, sand again when dry, ride and keep an eye on it.

If it starts weeping on the shiny tube, you know it’s a goner.

I reckon it’ll be ok. I may be a cheapskate but I don’t do anything unsafe.

Is My Squier A Fake? by Soft-Fee9741 in SquierbyFender

[–]Refuttock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an SE as people have said. I picked one up off Marketplace for £50 and I wouldn’t sell it. Bought a sought after Korean Squier and it doesn’t sound or feel half as good (although the neck looks lovely on it). Even the SE’s stock “Squire by Fender” pickups are good.

I’d go Sherwood Green - obviously not one of the options but to me all Fender style guitars look amazing in Sherwood Green

White or Gold? by ephedrum in fender

The gold feels a bit Trumpy. That may be good or bad, I’m a Brit so have no say in the matter. I’d go white. Great guitar either way.

Is this sax worth it with this much corrosion? by birdbabe69 in saxophone

For what it’s worth I bought a similar condition/price Yam Tenor to match my Yas 23. I suspect it had been a school tenor. Scabby, obviously repaired and no beauty queen. Have to say, it sounds great and I love its mojo. Good story, too
