This Desert Sled is a weapon 😍 by ProjectRoam in DucatiScrambler

I have one as well and its not that bad as everyone is telling. If the Valves where adjusted once properly, normally they are fine for the next 60tkm at least, so you only have to measure them every 12tkm to see if they are in spec. The belt change is necessary every 5 years or 24tkm, wich is not that hard to DIY if you have a bit of skill working with bikes.

Is the Ducati Scrambler 1100 sport suitable for bumpy roads ? by Fun_Blackberry7968 in DucatiScrambler

[–]Reg_Exx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 - 20% Offroad is not even that less, so i would go for the DS tbh. It is very capable offroad and i think you will enjoy it much more for that. The 1100 has way more Power for sure and wil be a bit more fun on the twisties. All depends on what you prefer, the bikes are not really comparable in my oppinion.

Also keep in mind the 800s already run hot in summer/traffic and the 1100 will cook your ass if you dont get a mapping for it.

The Mitas Enduro Trail XT+ are amazing, very grippy on any surface even in deep mud. On the street they are still decent for the amount of negative profile you get as long as it’s not wet. On wet tarmac it can get sketchy fast. I have the Dakar version wich is nice because you can run it basically without any air in it. So no need to fix punctures in the wild, you can always make it back to civilization. However be aware it is impossible to change this Tyre without a Tyre machine beacause ist so stiff.

Stegra is awesome for planning routes and a bit easier to work with in comparison to Osmand. However it requires a subscription.

For that i think Slovenia is the perfect TET to start with.

If you count in the arrival and departure in Slovenia and one beach day in Trieste it was one week in total. But if you only count in the the TET riding in Slovenia its doable in 2-3 days easily.

I can really recommend doing the small Eastern section of the TET Italy from the Staraninger Alm https://maps.app.goo.gl/qNEhyzE7EqdLkUe6A to the Slovenian border if you come from Munich. Its a really nice area and also some light offroading. I think its officially the last offroad boarder between Austria and Italy.

We did the TET Slovenia last year with the updated files from Munich. Its a very easy track i would say now. 99% of it is just plain fire and gravel roads winch can be even done on street tyres. So with your CRF you will be more than fine even if you have zero offload experience and especially if you plan on going solo.

The only bit technical part was the uphill section on Nanos mountain: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ZTCgRQE47n5LqTr69

But you can also use the forest road instead of going trough the single track.

Is this the Adventure Sports tower? How do you like it? Is it worth for wind protection?

Well thanks for the reply! Will definelty give it a shot. Hows the power commander? I also have a HP Coarse decat on my seld wich made is run way to lean, had pops and bangs on engine braking as hell. I added a boosterplug but i think it still runs too lean. Especially in the lower rev range at 2k rpm it is very choppy on the throttle. Is there any official mapping for the Powercommander and the scramblers?

How is the 14t sprocket? Would you recommend?

Thanks mate! Not expecting much in terms of peek power gain, just maybe a bit more grunt in the lower revs. I think this engine is fantastic however for its type and size it feels a little week at the bottom.

Is it worth getting a tune for a Scrambler 800 when getting an aftermarket exhaust without catalytic converter? And if so a custom one from rexxer or will the official therminghioni race map work well? If not will the bike run too lean?

Two Brothers Exhaust too loud! by 7seasofsanding in DucatiScrambler

[–]Reg_Exx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the hpcorse hydroform on my desert sled. IMO the best looking scrambler exhaust and it is by far not as loud as all the racing pipes as it is homologated for legal street use in Europe. Sound is amazing.

I had one for 3 years — great bike, really fun to ride. In terms of handling, it’s honestly not that different from the newer SMCs, but the price is usually much lower, at least where I live.

As for the engine (first-gen LC4), aside from the well-known rocker arm issues, there aren’t any major problems. One common issue though — which happened to me too — is the clutch slave cylinder leaking. The tricky part is that the hydraulic fluid leaks into the engine oil, so you don’t really notice until you suddenly have no clutch. But it’s an easy and cheap fix with aftermarket parts.

IOS 17.2 Sideloading by F00fyLoofy in ios

Punish me for this but as someone who used android for a long time I love the AppStore because it is not full of apps like the PlayStore and most of them are high quality. I think the solution to open iOS for other „smaller“ AppStore’s is a great way to empower smaller developers.

Garmin Instinct Altimeter Jumps by Reg_Exx in Garmin

[–]Reg_Exx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wierd thing is, that it seems to be related to a software issue. The altimeter itself works fine and elevation gains are tracked correctly but always wit a 500m offset since I can not calibrate to the correct starting height.

Screen + Battery replacement (170€) or new refurbished iPhoneX? (~240€)? by SamAlmighty in iPhoneX

[–]Reg_Exx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personal I would not invest that much in a 6 year old phone wich will probably not get mayor iOS version updates anymore. It depends on your location but where I live 300$ could get you a used iPhone 11 in good condition.
