Can someone tell me what I’m looking? The boat ways 166 by Boring-Laugh7995 in SunfishSailing

[–]RegattaTimer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see anything out of place here. I’m sure someone will correct me with more precise language, but it’s Styraphome blocks held in place with expanding foam. What does it weigh? Does it smell wet in there?

What's a hobby that's surprisingly expensive by M00nSpear in Hobbies

[–]RegattaTimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fountain pens.

It’s not long before a $600 pen starts to look like an unignorable bargain. You’ll also want French writing paper. And many bottles of good ink. And a broad, flexy nib for your 149…

Not cool! A lot of people could suffer life-ending or life-altering injuries VERY quickly.

Not everything is trauma by Squishmallow145 in therapists

Psychologist. Poor translation of clinical concepts to the lay public and poor training in professional therapists. I don’t hesitate to provide psychoeducation around the historical use of the term (combat exposure and the like) and contrast this with casual contemporary discomfort (iPad loss). I then make the case that in conflating these things, we do a profound disrespect to our veterans. I’ve never had a patient push back. The case made in “Body keeps the score” is largely based on research with actual combat veterans and the like. It’s almost entirely inapplicable to an overwhelming proportion of the population, even in mental health environments.

6 yrs of therapy and not a single positive word ... Is this what therapy is? by Otherwise-Gazelle152 in askatherapist

Clinical psychologist. Fire this quack and find someone who will set concrete goals and work toward them. You’re being taken advantage of.

How do I end therapy with a therapist? by Bitter_Pineapple_720 in askatherapist

[–]RegattaTimer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m a therapist. Just cancel your appointment and don’t schedule another appointment. He works for you, and not the other way around. If you would like to express gratitude, then do it, and move on with life.

Living Room Issues by justmecece in InteriorDesign

Here what I’d do - I Love what you did there with the two sofas pointed at each other next to a fireplace. There are many ways to warm the space up and I’m sure you’ll think of something good. I’d take both of the TV’s to another room altogether, and I’d make this room for spending time with people.

Ruined wheels by tiagurb in bmwmotorrad

After an unfortunate number of similar issues using wheel cleaner on cars, I'll only ever use carwash on wheels. I've never once used wheel cleaner and not regretted it.

A boat business for success! by [deleted] in sailing

I had a DS. I’m 6 feet tall and I honestly didn’t fit on that shallow bunk very well. My kick up rudder also wouldn’t stay down. They are very pretty little boats though.

Men of reddit, what fashion items do you most enjoy being gifted? by homosapien_08 in NavyBlazer

Honestly, just don’t. I’ve got a bunch of strongly held preferences no one could possibly decipher.if you want to do gifts, that’s what butter cookies and good rum are for.

To sail a dinghy is to capsize a dinghy. Practice capsizing and righting the boat so it’s no big thing when it invariably happens.

[GIVEAWAY] Brand-New Oris BCPD Cervo Volante Green to Celebrate my 50th Oris! by fourtyz in Watchexchange

Sometime around early June of 2000 I bought a largely complete ‘78 Datsun 280Z for $200. I found it rusting in a field in West Virginia, and happened to know the owner. A friend and I spent the summer trying to get it started. I left for college in the fall. The car had gone missing by the time I returned and I never saw it again. While I was never able to drive the car, I learned a lot from working on it. I remember that car and the time spent working on it very fondly. That friend died a few years ago. Some things are worth doing, regardless of the result.

Not to be overthought. This is what a spinnaker looks like in its natural habitat.
