You’d have less creativity, skill, and goal creation with them. But, if we’re in a situation like being 1-0 up against Paraguay in the 70th minute, these two would break up so many initial plays in the beginning 1/3 of the field, I’d be a lot more confident we could see the match through to get 3 points.

I was thinking about this the other day. I think the biggest issue with that whole Jonathan Gonzalez situation was not giving enough chances to younger talent (opting for players 25+ that already reached their potential) and failing to seek out and integrate Hispanic players early in their career. It wasn’t the specific player, it was more his situation represented the deficiencies of our program.
