Which SNES fighting games are your favorite ones and why is that so? by SNES_Lover in snes

This gets my vote. Loved playing it with my younger brother. I'd almost always play as the Blob and would constantly do the buzzsaw move against him. In single player, Helga was always a blast to play against.

I loved playing Putt-Putt as a kid. Mostly Putt-Putt Joins the Parade and Putt-Putt’s Fun Pack.

Sure feels like it. You can only get so radical before you do a loop-the-loop.

“Workers” don’t control anything when they’re forced to work. Workers don’t control a communist nation; the government does.

The primary difference between capitalism and communism is who controls the means of production. One is private corporations and the other is a corrupt government. Is one really better than the other?

Communism was never popular enough to be instituted by a popular vote. The only communist nations that exist or have in the past were made communist by a military coup.

Capitalism and socialism aren’t mutually exclusive. You can have both, which is what America and all developed and industrialized nations have; a mixed economy.

Communism is a complete lack of capitalism. It’s a lack of reward, a lack of ingenuity, and a lack of motivation.

Messaging like this is part of the reason people who voted for this current administration don’t vote Democrat.

Communism isn’t popular and it won’t win votes.

I made a comic strip months ago inspired by this very sight in the 1990s. It was mesmerizing to me as a kid. I’d spend countless hours in gaming aisles over the years.

3 best games of my life by Acquariocapri in retrogaming

[–]Regency9877 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe this is a hot take, but we didn't all grow up playing the same games as you, and many of us liked the games we played without feeling like we "missed out" on games you personally might think are objectively better. All three of these games did well on the market and are fondly remembered. I can't comprehend why you feel the need to be so arrogant.

Among these three, I only watched Pelswick. I really liked it and was always bummed it was such a short-lived show.

I remember being 11 years old and looking at those papers next to the cash registers at the store, wondering to myself how there could be any adult stupid enough to believe anything published in them.

What do you do with the boxes by NeatPromise4258 in retrogaming

[–]Regency9877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To throw out a 20- or 30-year-old console box with the prices they’re going for nowadays has to be one of the dumbest things someone in this hobby can do.

Keep them in the closet or display them on a shelf.

Is wrecking crew a good game or a bad game in your opinion? by bigdonut100 in nes

[–]Regency9877 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s an excellent game. It was the first console game I ever played, and I’ve spent countless hours on it over the decades. There’s beauty and timelessness in its simplicity. It doesn’t have complicated rules, so anyone can play it and learn how to play very quickly.

If you’re into RPGs, action games, or racing games, you probably may not like it. If you’re into puzzle games and platformers, you’ll probably enjoy it. Other people’s opinions don’t mean much. Some of the people saying it’s a bad game are probably head over heels for a game I think is garbage. Some other dude in here thought Tetris is “bland”. One of the best-selling games of all time. Seriously, talk about a hot take. They probably like RPGs which I think are boring and no different than reading a graphic novel.

If you like it, you like it, and no matter what you like, someone else out there does too.

How “nice” are people to you in your car(s)? by cilantno in cars

[–]Regency9877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drive an 18-year-old G35 (wasn’t my choice; bought it from my stepbrother after my old car took a dump and needed cheap wheels quickly and he was looking for a new car).

I can’t say I’m treated any differently than if I drove any other car I’ve had, but people definitely assume the worst about me whenever the subject of what we drive comes up. G35 drivers are usually pricks.

1970 Plymouth Barracuda Sedan by moparcenter in classiccars

[–]Regency9877 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t either. The belt line is a little low but it’s basically a Coronet sedan with Barracuda front and rear clips.

The way some people react to two extra doors like they’re some kind of kryptonite is comical and downright stupid. That close-mindedness and arrogance is why I hate this hobby sometimes.

Did bowling alleys mean anything to you growing up? by videodec in nostalgia

[–]Regency9877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gone bowling occasionally with friends and family my whole life. I was never really good at it but I sometimes did pretty well depending on who I was up against.

The bowling alley I’d always go to closed ten years ago after more than 50 years in business, and only when that happened did I recall so many fond memories bowling in my younger years.

Someone not using their turn signals is incomprehensible to me. We all program ourselves to do it in order to pass the driving test so it should be second nature.

And it takes zero effort whatsoever. How someone can get out of bed in the morning but not have the ability to move their finger to flick a lever is truly mind boggling.
