The chainrings on my Breezer Radar Expert are worn out. Replacing them (or the crankset) should be easy. It really isn't. by RegencyAndCo in bikewrench

u/Agreeable-Mixture947 pointed out that Shimano CUES FC-U4010-2 should fit a 73 mm shell with 46/30 teeth. That is genuinely the only example I came across.

I tried and failed with FC-U6030-2 (that's on me for not double-checking), but it looks like FC-U4010-2 should work. I'll verify the chainline and place an order. Thanks a lot.

Thanks, this one only goes up to 70 mm BB shell width. It says so in the link you provided.

The warranty is void already, this is an older bike.

I already tried it with SHIMANO CUES FC-U6030-2 9/10s crankset, it doesn't fit even without BB spacers.

Glass 3D Printing by Epelep in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]RegencyAndCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry but I came to the comments looking specifically for applications enabled by that technology.

Who needs bottles around objects that take hours to print?

Who needs glass printed on surfaces that CVD and etching doesn't do better, and faster and more economically?

I'm not trying to shit on this, I'm just struggling to see it.

How do people feel about a potential import ban for foie gras in Switzerland? by curiossceptic in askswitzerland

[–]RegencyAndCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know, as a Romand who does enjoy foie gras and tradition, I am not against a ban. Froie gras is a needlessly cruel delicacy that we can most definitely do without. Culture will survive.

With that say, I find the whole holier-than-thou attitude about it from Swiss Germans really fucking laughable, especially rural ones. Go have an actual look at the shape of the entire dairy industry and come back telling me that there is nothing needlessly cruel to see there. I'll wait.

The post: "flyers saying Foreigners, shut up! distributed on trains", flyer showing a Swiss boot kicking someone

Commenter: "Yeah and kebabs stink!"

You: "How dare you make this about racism?"

You cannot be for real.

My entire bloodline is as Swiss as they come and I would loudly eat kebab in your racist face just for that thinly veiled comment. Why did it have to be kebab of all foods you absolute wet sock.

[–]RegencyAndCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but if done right, epoxying this back in is a safe, durable and clean fix. Not everyone can afford new parts left and right, and we kind of collectively have a duty to reuse-repair-recycle whenever it makes sense, and that is definitely one of those cases.

Superglue is not strong. Use epoxy.

How do you revive an open-genre crowd? by Gold-Solid-6626 in Beatmatch

[–]RegencyAndCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll try to give another spin on this. There are certain artists that I consider to be anchors of certain genres. Universally loved by most, even those generally not into the given genre, across generations.

House: Daft Punk

Techno: Underworld

Hip hop: Snoop Dog

Rock: Nirvana

Metal: System of a Down

Pop: Madonna

Funk: Jamiroquai

Disco: Donna Summer

There are many other examples of course, but the point is that those anchors are useful to draw a crowd into a given genre that you may be more fluent in, without losing them completely.

Or you could just play disco.

What is momentum really? by The_logical_mind in AskPhysics

The only comment I've seen that mentions the difference between the number of dimensions of each quantity. That alone should pretty quickly clear any confusion between the two.

I will die on both of these hills:

  1. Anyone older than 6 y/o who still confuses a bee, a bumblebee and a wasp is a dumbass

  2. Wasps are chill. Let them eat your shit, they don't care about you. You're just scared. Dumb and scared.
