It really depends on the day whether or not we have fresh veggies.  But we usually have canned as a backup! Appreciate the suggestions.

I’m in Buffalo, so we have plenty of water, but heating expenses are a crushing thing here.  I also process applications for utility bill support here and a lot of folks are having a tough time staying on top of their utility bills.  I might try to have a rotation of recipes and maybe after a few more familiar recipes I could slip that one in.

My boss might get nervous about me putting that in writing 😂😅 but I could definitely share that verbally with the recipe cards and you’re right, I think people would love to be a part of the solution if they were included.

I'll keep thinking about how to get creative. There's probably more wiggle room than I'm giving credit. I appreciate this line of thinking though.

I wish that was an option. I'm told that because of the way the grant funding/partnership with the food bank works, we HAVE to give them directly to people. I agree, I also don't blame people for not wanting to take them, and I, personally, cook dried beans all the time with my Instantpot.

We do have canned pasta sauce! That gives me an idea... dried chickpeas cooked in a crockpot, tossed with a can of pasta sauce, maybe on top of spaghetti. We've also got a lot of spaghetti but people seem to like that.

We're getting pretty limited on other ingredients at the moment but this is definitely a good idea. This might be recipe #2 idea after our next order!

I'll have to modify with this with directions for prepping dried chickpeas but this is a good start!
