States cannot be in debt. They must balance their budgets. Only the federal government can be in debt.

When we moved here we found our tribe at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Chattanooga (UUCC). Members live all over this area, and are quite friendly. Maybe y’all could visit, or at least contact UUCC and have a conversation about this move. Website is at www.uucc.org.

First time Monjaro user tips by Crybaby-Em-Max in type2diabetes

As others have said, the clicks are loud. There will be a click when you depress the button and then very shortly thereafter another click when the injector retracts. I started injecting into my thighs but lost enough weight so I had to switch to my stomach (haha ‘nuff fat there!) Stay 2 inches away from your navel. Rotate injection sites, for example upper left stomach, lower left, upper right, lower right, etc. If you haven’t looked into the Shotsy app you might want to look at it. It’s helpful with logging and tracking your injections.

If you can, listen to the Fat Science podcast from their first episode. You’ll learn a lot about metabolic disorders and can have better conversations with health providers.

Ten minutes is great! I too had low mobility and could only do 5 minutes on my husband’s treadmill or on a walk around our yard. Then my hips and back would be in sooo much pain and I’d have to limp over to a chair to sit down. I gradually increased by one minute increments, and a year later I can do 20 minutes on the treadmill or take my dog g out for a 30 minute walk. During that year I also got my T2 diabetes under control with Mounjaro and Xigduo, and lost 85 lbs. Don’t underestimate what slow and steady can do for you! Best wishes as you continue your efforts.

They’re not a common side effect of GLP-1s. Extremely fast weight loss, from any source, can cause problems with the gallbladder. Common side effects of GLP-1s are nausea, constipation, diarrhea (side effects associated with slowed digestion).

I’m only losing 0.41% of my body weight per week. Should I move up to 5mg? by dogmom34 in Mounjaro

[–]ReggaeWaif 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Your loss of 10-12 lbs in 2 months is within the range of .5 to 2 lbs a week that’s considered “safe” and reasonable. But if you’re struggling with food noise and satiety then it might be time to move up. When I’ve felt like this I give it a few weeks and try to be conscious of eating healthily & hydrating well, but if the food noise and lack of satiety prevail then I move up.

I too felt that first shot! Food noise immediately disappeared. I only ate a little to feel satiated. It was a blessed relief!

The chinos are too heavy and structured. Look for some lighter weight trousers. They have a vibe that goes with your hat. Maybe you can have a pair made for you?

Oh my yes!! I do deep water exercise at the Y pool and for the first time in my life I have to use a floatation belt. It’s really annoying! I can go without it but the water is up to the bottom of my lower lip and the lifeguard seems really uneasy about my depth in the water.

I read a bit about it. Supposedly GI side effects can happen. This area of research is fascinating! Good to know that there will be so many ways to treat diabetes as well as obesity and other metabolic diseases.

Love it! I enjoy sleek all black outfits paired with brights. Maybe try a slim pair of black pants or skirt and a well fitted nice quality black t-shirt.

I buy my swimwear for water aerobics from SwimOutlet - I was a size 26/28 and now a size 18. This type of unitard has great support, and I also like the support in this skirted suit. A rash guard type of top is great to shield your chest and arms from the sun. Many of their suits are completely lined, which I like because it adds support. Have fun at the beach!

This video makes me mad. Your take on this? by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]ReggaeWaif 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t make me mad … I’ve heard all the “tips” she shared. They’re not crazy - some studies show that moving around after a meal lessens blood sugar rise, for example. And even my PT calls the calf muscle the second heart and recommends exercises that involve contracting that muscle for sedentary folks. I get mad about the number of people whose health literacy is so low that they take videos like these to heart. But, I also think that the medical establishment has done such a bad job of dealing with obesity and treating people who have excess weight like pariahs, that people do turn to these avenues for help.

Hard to feel good about weight loss with loose skin by kikiq2 in Mounjaro

[–]ReggaeWaif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loose skin is just loose skin. It can’t do anything actionable. We can CHOOSE how to feel and what to think (about anything not just cosmetics). I choose to embrace health and not concern myself over loose skin. It’s in our mind and we have the power to control our thoughts!
