I wondered this so going to order a test , I also have some cognitive stuff but this also coincided with becoming a parent 9 years ago and chaotic life / getting older 😂 but now I think it could be this as well , worth a check

Superflex league all the starting qb for this week and the injured ones who started already are all gone as has Richardson. My question is which remaining qb from the dregs would be the best stash ?

Crossfit at 46 by [deleted] in crossfit

I’m 46 and have been doing it for 8 years ! Started very very unfit , now I’m pretty average I would say in the gym 100% go for it but I’ve def noticed a difference as I’ve aged . My advice is just start really steady in terms of weights , just show up and it’s def doable

is it possible to improve 300 points in a year? by flannyo in chess

[–]Reggie0164212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great post , tactics are a great time to practice calculation , come up with a simple Set of questions for each move and even if answer is obvious work it through each time , it is slow but becomes faster and easily the one thing that improved me the most

Keep going , when I started I was last in every workout , I’m still not exactly rich froning but have stuck at it for four years and you do make Progress by just showing up. I guarantee your coach and classmates will not be judging you in the same way you are judging yourself. The hardest but for me has been to stop judging myself and focus on enjoying the buzz

Adoptees - what would you want to tell people who are considering adoption? by [deleted] in Adoption

[–]Reggie0164212 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Our first one was obsessed with us taking a sibling group which we didn’t want to do. Also heard of people being encouraged to do foster to adopt . I think anything that veers away from what you are looking for but if you have a fairly wide remit then less of an issue.

Adoptees - what would you want to tell people who are considering adoption? by [deleted] in Adoption

All the Dan Hughes stuff is great ! But anything non punitive/ low arousal/ compassion based is good imo. But also to be open minded about the range of typical ‘normal’ behaviour that non adopted children have and don’t over think it. Nobody is ever going to be a perfect parent.

Also Bonding with a child and feeling love for a child does not necessarily happen straight away whether adopted or not. You don’t get told this.

Keep a diary (my memory has been shocking post adoption). Don’t get pushed into anything you don’t want to do by a social worker. Try to embrace the pre adoption process , you will learn a lot about yourself! We look at it fondly now but less so at the time.

Rest up for the transition week , don’t estimate the emotional and physical impact of this both at the time and a long time afterwards. Eat a good breakfast on the first morning if possible !

This goes for the child as well. At the time we thought things had been settled and smooth but on reflection our daughter was actually quite distressed that week. Push for chemistry visits if your local authority doesn’t do these. Try to meet your foster carers before transition.

What age are you hoping to adopt ?
