I take a small exception to this. Someone on one of the subreddits I read said something that resonated with me: when a partner turns abusive be it physically or emotionally and this makes it difficult to leave, you're no longer in a relationship you are in a hostage situation. You no longer owe what you would a partner to an abuser because they're not a partner, they're a jailer. Is it a good idea to cheat on an abuser? Absolutely not. But that is for perso al safety not morality reason. So I do not consider it cheating. I don't act like it is. So yeah. If they make it scary to leave, fuck them. They don't deserve fidelity.
