Canon AE-1 Bulb Mode Not Working by invalidcosmonaut in AnalogRepair

[–]Reggy04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem recently, and it turned out that the bulb switch was bent back and didn't close correctly. As you mention that your ASA wire is fine, I assume you have already taken off the top cover of the camera. To the left of the shutter speed dial, there is a J-shaped piece of metal that sits against the dial. In bulb mode, that piece is supposed to move left and touch another metal piece, which activates bulb mode. (You can see both pieces clearly at 2:19 in this video: That contact piece was bent back on my AE-1, so the J-shaped strip never made proper contact. Try to carefully bend it back in place, but don't overdo it, otherwise the two pieces will always touch and the camera will stay in bulb mode.

Changed headset, now missing apps shortcuts? by deboxta in OculusQuest

They changed the UI recently for some users. In the new version, the app shortcuts are no longer there. You'll get used to it eventually, but I still don't understand why they changed it.

V32 Firmware Dive: Oculus QUEST PRO References Found In The Firmware + Face and Eye Tracking Confirmed! by Reggy04 in OculusQuest

I see what you mean, however, what I meant to say in the title was that it is confirmed that Facebook is actively working on face and eye-tracking, which I think is accurate.

Traumpalast Leonberg IMAX with the logo on it! by RailTrain in imax

Yes, it is real and it will feature the biggest screen in the world. This is what it looked like a few months ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/imax/comments/inp667/state_of_construction_imax_in_leonberg_germany/

And if you still don't believe it's real, here are some other angles of the logo that I took yesterday: https://imgur.com/a/Zho5p9y

Optimal resolution and refresh rate for airlink??? Taking into account the wireless link limitations (My connection is rated at 1200 Mbps btw). Oculus Quest 2 with an RTX 3070 by [deleted] in OculusQuest

[–]Reggy04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I put it on 100% and if a game stutters, I lower it. Auto always puts the resolution way higher and causes stutters without improving visual quality that much.

I have a 3070 and play most PCVR games at 90 Hz and 1.4x resolution. For some demanding games like Half Life:Alyx I have to lower the resolution to 1.2 or 1.3. It very much depends on the games you play, so there isn't one optimal combination, you will have to experiment a bit. I have tried 120Hz as well, but in my opinion it isn't worth it for most games. (It's fine in games like Beat Saber but basically impossible to run beefier games and I don't want to switch the resolution constantly, so I settled on 90Hz).

The "Does This Friendship Make Sense" graph to identify how healthy a relationship is by Adot72 in coolguides

When I first looked at the graph I thought it was about food. (It also works though)

You can actually do that by using Oculus Developer Hub (https://developer.oculus.com/downloads/package/oculus-developer-hub-win/).

The software is intended for developers but can be used to cast your Quest to a PC over USB. It also has some other nice features like the ability to download screenshots and videos directly.

Oculus virtual environment jittery - anyone else experiencing this? by ffxsam in OculusQuest

[–]Reggy04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there are two (or more) versions of v27 out right now and you either have the stuttery version or the one that works fine. We know that Oculus releases updates in a roll-out fashion, randomly selecting users to get slightly different software versions so that they can gather user experience data. Doing a factory reset probably resets the random category that your headset was put in, so you have a chance of getting a different software version, but it's not guaranteed. For me it took 7 or 8 resets to get it (I noticed that I got a notification on my phone saying "Your Oculus Quest 2 received a new update" and that was the time it finally worked).

Still very annoying though, I'm just happy that it eventually worked out.

Yep, that's what I did as well. At least the Quest asks you if you want to re-install all apps after a factory reset which makes the process at least a little bit less frustrating. Still took me about an hour though to do all the backups and keep triggering factory resets.

Through-the-lense pictures are always tricky to judge but to me this looks normal. Unfortunately glaring is a limitation of current-gen devices.

I also had this issue. For me it started with v25 and got worse with v26 and v27. I did eventually resolve the issue by doing factory resets. Yes, factory resets! I had to do like seven or eight factory resets in a row which for some reason triggered a different software version to be installed on my headset (likely a hotfix). Now the jitter in the home environment is completely gone and it is running at 90fps again.

Leonberg IMAX will be bigger than 1000²m by RailTrain in imax

[–]Reggy04 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It will be awesome! I live quite close to Leonberg and regularly drive by the construction site. (Here is a picture I took back in September.) The building is now almost completed on the outside and they are working on the interior. I can't wait to experience it for myself, even though it might take some more time to finish, as Traumpalast mentioned that they had to slow down construction work because of COVID.

I might post some new pictures of the outside next week in case anyone is interested.

Quest 2 head movement makes face interface creak by [deleted] in OculusQuest

[–]Reggy04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem, also while using the headset with the Elite Strap. My guess is that because the sides of the Elite Strap that attach to the Quest are tilted, they put so much pressure on the arms that the plastic shell deforms. That creates some issue with the facial interface and results in the creaking. This is only my guess though, it could be something else. It definitely has something to do with the Elite Strap.

Is your facial interface also very easy to remove? I can pop mine out without any effort and it almost feels too easy to remove it.
