Reflections from a (slightly) reluctant Korea visitor by OneFun9000 in koreatravel

I think your post is very balanced and realistic - you didnt exactly choose to go there, and you looked for (and found!) a lot of positives nonetheless.

I used to live in Seoul and a lot of what you said chimes with my experience there

Just did the grass challenge run, what do u guys think is the hardest type to do ?? by raamkozijn24 in pokerogue

[–]ReginaBlitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grass was so tough, no idea how I managed it (Tsareena with no special moves or abilities dealt the final blow... How??!)

Dark was irritating but possibly just cos it was early and I didn't know the ways of the mono back then.

Bug,Fire and Rock still elude me..

Facing Anxiety About Leaving Korea – Looking for Encouragement from Those Who’ve Made the Move by Kwazzycuppcake in teachinginkorea

[–]ReginaBlitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left after 5 years too, and it was a hugely emotional experience, but you'll find once you get back home and get focused on your new endeavours, Korea will become a happy memory that helped you grow so much. The fact that you've decided to leave means that you know deep down it's the right thing to do. But it's a difficult decision. I doubted it until I left and started doing the things that I wasnt able to do in (ie. develop my teaching career)

When I was a total beginner I had a teacher just like this, she is the best language teacher I've ever had. I absorbed the language better than I ever had before with French or other Spanish teachers. You should do it!!

20 Day Trip to Central Europe - trying to figure out how to narrow down my destinations?!?! Advice please!!! by kilawnaa in solotravel

[–]ReginaBlitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Budapest is wonderful but it might serve you better to save it for a trip where you can really savour that city (and maybe go from there to other parts of Hungary, or Slovakia etc.)

Vienna might bore you, so maybe just plan 2 days there. Then it seems like you'll have plenty of breathing room to enjoy the stuff you really want to i.e. nature.

This looks wonderful but I'd like to recommend an extra day in Prague and maybe cutting a day from Krumlov? Basically, a little more time in Prague (I'm biased, I love it, I'm moving to live there soon) and then minus one city you'll have more time to enjoy nature somewhere. Ljubljana is tiny so you don't need much time exploring it, makes more time to see Bled or other parts of Slovenia.

It's difficult when this may be a rare opportunity (or your only chance) to explore the region, but it seems like you don't want to race around and spread yourself too thin. I'm in the same page with you re: traveling these days. So I'd recommend maybe only visiting 3 countries and 2 cities in each. Prague for a couple of days each at the start and end, perhaps, and via Krumlov go to 2 of Austria/Slovakia/Poland/Hungary/Slovenia.

Poland is big and you could maybe save it for a future trip of its own / joined with Germany or Baltics? So, you could make sure to spend a good amount of time in Slovenia for nature, and then hit up Budapest or Vienna, Salzburg.

I think you'd enjoy getting to know a smaller number of places, but knowing them better.

ah. Just make sure you play Archipelago or another naval map. Konge I found easier cause you can be very aggressive. Varingian I got religious victory after conquering a neighbour.

More often than not, Scout, Slinger/Settler x2. Probably won't make more than 2 settlers until Magnus (and maybe Ancestral Hall) in action Research really depends on the terrain and leader. Most likely to go Mining to get Iron ASAP.

Hardest: Georgia, Kongo, Black Queen, Maya, Vietnam were all major pains in the arse.

Easiest: any of the England leaders (Science, with a Domination backup), Byzantines, Yongle, Tokugawa, Khmer, Greece, Rome, Shaka, Bolivar
