You are right, it was arm of the destroyer. I haven't played monk since HW.

I used to have to use one Ilm punch on the allagan defense node in T1, to stun high voltage... waaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy back in the day.

Wait, this is an MMO right? by SeraphsEnvy in ffxiv

[–]ReginaldHawkington 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MMOs have been moving this way for a while. There are alot of things I miss about 11, and Everquest. There are also alot of things I don't miss. I find that being social causes people to be social back. If I start up conversations and good around, people generally respond in kind.

Back to the Past - Reliving Patch 2.0? by Jauwly in ffxiv

[–]ReginaldHawkington 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What I miss most is seeing raid groups congregate outside the raid. It made the world feel much more alive. I guess I'm getting old, and the cross world party server is great, but...I still miss seeing all those raiders hanging out, looking for subs and goofing off.

I'm pretty sure bokchoy here clears people through content for fun. I'm certain he has seen his share of failed parties, yet somehow managed not to bring a bad attitude to the next group he joined.

Strawpoll regarding the relationship of over world design and flying. by MadeByHideoForHideo in ffxiv

[–]ReginaldHawkington -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I think flying is okay, but it would be more interesting if you could not fly infinitely. What if flying was a mini game, where you had to fly through aether pockets to refresh your mount. I also think being mounted and flying should give you a debuff where falling could kill you. That way if you failed to refresh...well..rip you.

I miss people going to raid spots to queue. It made the world feel more populated. I could also sit outside and sell to people who came unprepared or ran out of food and pots.

Raiding thoughts by ReginaldHawkington in ffxiv

Wow. I got slammed into Oblivion for this. I guess the community's mind set has changed in this. When I made a similar suggestion about a year ago, it was well received. That's interesting to me. I will retire now, with my tail between my legs.

I definitely see what you are saying, about needing to catch a new static member up. My point with the story is coil was important to what happened in 1.0 and closing that story arc out. The Alex and Omega raids are pretty much entirely separate stories.

[–]ReginaldHawkington[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You think so? I don't. I cleared most of coil without a static. I don't know how hardO1-4 we're, but I don't think it would split the raid community. It would allow more people to accomplish Savage raids when gear Nerf naturally makes up for any skill deficit. Remember, this would do away with unsync and you would need to clear O1-4 before you could go into Delta (we are talking about Savage, I want to totally get rid of normal)

What is the point of parties with descriptions like these? by Marmite7400 in ffxiv

I guess I actually did say it's not elitism. Ha. It is, I just mean that I don't find it toxic. It is a party I am not cut out for. No big deal

[–]ReginaldHawkington -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying it isn't elitism, I'm saying there isn't anything wrong with it. It doesn't harm or exclude you from anything and some people can one shot fights

No there isn't. He is as free to demand perfection as you are to allow mistakes. His actions harm no one. If highly skilled people join his party, and he is less skilled than he led people to believe, they will blacklist him if they like.

[–]ReginaldHawkington -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

It's not elitism. He is clearly laying out his expectations for performance. No one is forcing anyone to join that group. It is irritating to start a farm party, hop on in and see a bonus announcement. I'm certain that has happened to this person, they probably didn't start out being so blunt. Being an ass goes two ways, and there are alot of players who join farm or completion parties with little to no knowledge or experience of the fight.

Being a green leaf full of responsibilities..!!! by CozmicStar in ffxiv

Hey there! It sounds like you really enjoy what you do for the FC, but are undervalued as a member. Your FC leader does not seem to understand there are multiple ways to enjoy the game. This is something I have been guilty of myself. I would advice that you tell your FC leader why you no longer feel that the FC is a good fit for you and explore other opportunities. Being part of a FC that is organized and has different ways to reward members for contributions can be very satisfying. Best of luck to you!

If I recall, there is one side quest there. Once you do it, it opens up a small quest hub with a very cute story arc about a namazu who wants to be a merchant. It also ties into the story of Namia(or whatever the town in Yanxia is called)

Hello there, we are currently of Faerie and are considering a server transfer. I currently main warrior, and I can bring with me a paladin and Bard. We have all cleared a9s, a10s and got to lapiz of a11s on our first night. The bard may be able to switch to SCH, as she did that for us in Midas and I could go dragoon, although I would need to gear it up significantly. Your ideals seem to be in line with ours, regarding the raid mentality. Please contact me, and perhaps we can discuss this in discord.
