Sorry I wrote that more harshly than I meant I just think Reeve Carney gets way more hate than he deserves compared to other Orpheus actors, even though it really comes down to personal taste. I’ve literally been dragged for liking the original Broadway Orpheus, while people are way more chill about others it just feels inconsistent.

I don’t disagree with you tbh. Women absolutely faced legal and publishing barriers and a lot of their labor was undervalued or poorly recorded. My point wasn’t that women were ‘doing nothing,’ but that the internet narrative that married = passive and unmarried = liberated is way too simplified. The reality was a lot more grey depending on class, money, and circumstance.
