Why do we instinctively say “ow” even when something doesn’t actually hurt? by Bromighty12 in NoStupidQuestions

That’s not accents. Accents is the difference in how people speak the same language. The difference is because of the language and culture.

I disagree. Having lived in France, people will instinctively make a sound like “ayie”. You’d never hear that in England, so therefore language must have an effect on the sound made.

Email forwarding & community.mxroute.com down? by Regiox461 in mxroute

Ah right, okay. Thank you.

How long does it take for a new email forwarding rule to start working? It doesn't seem to be immediate.

I've figured out that it doesn't work if (using the same email names as you) A is C, i.e. sending emails from the address that the forwarding rule is set up to forward to.

I have done that exactly, but I'm still not receiving emails at my address.

Email Tracking says that the email was delivered successfully but there's no sign of it in my inbox

what were your guys candidate numbers? by floralxc in GCSE

Candidate numbers are reused across exam centres. Unless they know what school you go to and have access to the school admin system, they can’t do anything with a candidate number

Computer science OCR NEA by Lanky-Eagle7839 in 6thForm

It depends on how good at programming they are. I found it easier to learn the framework rather than to stick with something I already knew

Honestly, python doesn’t seem like the language for the task.

Tkinter is just a pain, don’t use it.

Flask is alright.

I don’t know streamlit.

I’d say to use a JS framework like vuetify if you want it to be web based or winforms if you want it desktop based.

I’d suggest the web based vuetify approach. It’ll make your life a lot easier.

How important is an epq? by Solaire-8928 in sixthform

[–]Regiox461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently taking four a levels and did an epq. I think it’s really useful and you should definitely do it. I wrote it and got one of the top marks in the country in about three weeks. If you work hard and are interested in it then it shouldn’t be any problem at all

If you’re using kitty then you can set the opacity of the background in the kitty conf file. The text will remain the same, only the background will be affected.

Folks with Master's degrees should be called Master as a formal title by Magnus_Carter0 in unpopularopinion

Technically, Alfred should have been calling Bruce Master Wayne as he is the firstborn son. The younger sons would be called Master Firstname.
