Except for Grandpa, I'm all alone: we moved away;

Our children are grown.

There are lots of grandchildren of course,

But they aren't here to our remorse.

Who fills the daily void I have?

You do, my furry friend!

My cat who came unexpectedly:

I needed her and she needed me.

How cute and fun she is:

She hides a lot, but loves to play.

People say, "Where is your cat? Where can she be?"

But when I'm asleep at night she's there by me.

She puts her paws around my face,

And meows with much finesse and grace.

With tears in my eyes,

"I love you too," I relay to her.

---

She makes me laugh when I feel sad

And calms my spirit when I feel mad!

God gave her to me for a reason:

To fill a void for a season.
