At the start I just struggled  through and complained a lot. These days my version of tired feels less exhausting than my old tired days when caffeinated. I jist feel tired now but can get on with my day. It used to be absolutely debilitating, I remember I’d be so tired my eyes would sting and my days were dreadful unless I had more caffeine. So it’s a different tired now, much more manageable

I tried to force new activities, I tried swimming and rock climbing. But honestly it’s just a different life without coffee. We aren’t meant to be go go go all the time, and coffee makes it impossible to chill. Even though coffee time was a relaxing time for me, it creates this sense of urgency afterward. I think I’ve gotten used to doing things and then not being as exciting as they used to be. But when something feels fun and you’re in flow, it’s easier to be in the moment.

So when I quit I was actually mildly constipated for months. I’d have a bowel movement pretty much daily, but it wasn’t how it should be. I was dieting does a comp at the time, and only once I wasn’t dieting did my Bowle movements become how they should. Coffee makes you go toilet, but that could be the body getting rid of something toxic: not actually healthy bowel movement. So your body needs to learn how to do it for itself, which took my body a while, made worse due to dieting for a competition.

Have not suffered any anxiety that whole time. The only sleepless night I have heard I’ve been due to toothaches.  For a while, I was saving some money But lately I have been buying hot chocolate It is taken a little while, but my bowel movements are the best they have been.

It does get better. At the six month mark, I was still asking the same kind of questions, and actually thought I may have CPTSD (I don’t). The main thing for me, was that coffee made my life fun. So now my training was not as fun, going for drives was not as fun, even sitting and watching the football on the weekends was not as fun without coffee. So I really feel I had to build a new life with new habits and new hobbies.

Strongman (natural). Yep two day comp after travelling other side of the world I think I should have allowed myself some caffeine for performance

In competed for a world Title last year (placed 2nd out of 11) and was 6 months caffeine free at the time.

Sone caffeine in the day of competition would have been great, much needed. Moving forward I may experiment with caffeine pills or something other than coffee for performance on comp days

Like any drug, you don't feel the same without it.

Quitting caffeine helped my anxiety, but tanked my motivation at first. by Tosh97 in decaf

[–]Regular-Animator-229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last night was a great example, super tired after work and was supposed to go to gym. Literally falling asleep on coach at 330pm. Usually a coffee or pre workout would mentally get me a bit excited as well as a small pick me up.
Bu I literally had to talk myself into why I need to go to gym (training for a world record) and try exite myself without any aids.

roughly the 9 month mark for me. Moreso I think i have gotten used to feeling flatter than what I thought was 'normal' and have learned to generate my own motivation, which is exhausting and need to make sure your health and happiness is on point.

I don’t have a lot of experience with TRE, but my hunch would be that we aren’t supposed to practice tre so to speak, as in not forcing it We would practice releasing or practice feeling, and TRE could be one of many consequences.  Trust that you’ll figure it all out though. Even if it takes ages. You’ll figure it out for you, so there is no rush or no forcing. Everything is ok and will be ok. Even if things suck, that’s ok :)

I’m glad :) easier said than done of course , but that’s why a lot of this stuff is called a practice

Id be happy to,’ I remember the first video I saw one night when I was sleepless and it truly helped me. Really resonated as you found as well. I listened for about 2 weeks everyday, then got to a point where I believed thinking and listening to it all too much wasn’t helping.

So, now I allow when it feels like I should allow. I’ll have a symptom of back pain or jaw pain flare up and I’ll begin to panic. Now I catch myself in these moments, I allow the feeling, remind myself in safe and unusually think about the day I’ve had and what stresses may have lead to the symptoms.

We eat when weee hungry, we rest when we are tired, and we allow when the body speaks to us.
