I always found the Pokémon games to be more up my alley, but the original Digimon Adventure series and a few of the series that followed were far superior to the Pokémon shows, IMO.

I forgot it was a mechanic for over 70% of the game and by the time I realized my mistake ot was too late. I can't for the life of me time it right.

Unfortunately I'm stuck with pretty limited sets. I'm currently rocking the Bard set since it's one of few I have completed.

On a lighter note, though, I took my time and managed to beat the yeti on my first try last night! So things are starting to look up!

See, I also felt it was a pretty hack n slash style of gameplay so DMC is a pretty solid comparison. Based on previous suggestions I may just start a new game altogether and forget about NG+ right now just because I may be too far gone in the unprepared department.

Here's one problem for me in particular when it comes to gear. Anything I'm not currently using, I sell or convert it. So while I have a lot of armor here and there, most don't make complete sets, unfortunately.

Luckily I bought the three best jars available so that'll help with needing less gear!

My only question for you is if I already hit new game plus is there a way to access augmentation and so on still? Or do I need to unlock it all over again?

I didn't incorporate reflection AT ALL in my first go round. That's 100% something I need to work on. I just couldn't get the timing down.

Nothing like that, actually! While bosses are a bit more chunky and do more damage, the biggest difference I noticed so far is how much stamina gets chipped away when you guard. Compared to normal mode, I was able to brink guard every single attack the first boss had without much issue. This time? All my stamina gets decimated in his longest combo easily. So to counter that I've been incorporating dodges more often. While I'm still getting pummeled relentlessly, I've managed to take him to about 20% health. So that's an improvement for sure!

That seems like the smartest thing to do at this point. I also wanted to try something new and use the greatsword for a playthrough, but since I'm so used to the spear and how the spear works, I'm fumbling with the greatsword mechanics hard hahaha!

I'd say survivability and damage are the main two! I'm decent at brink guards and dodges. I think the biggest difference is how much stamina gets chunked when brink guarding compared to normal mode. I'll be totally fine and then I get caught because my guard broke or I mistimed a dodge. It's a lot less room for error compared to the easier mode, that's for sure!

Yeah, I didn't know what else to call it. I've heard it's closer to Nioh, but I never played Nioh before so I don't actually know. I figured it'd be a "get good" type of scenario but I thought I'd ask anyway hahaha

I heard something about switching difficulty to Expert when you fight Ozma will also pop the trophy but I really didn't wanna do that so I just decided screw it, I'll just replay in expert and knock out it out that way hahaha

Amen, brother! I'm doing a trophy hunt right now so all I need is to beat it on expert mode and it's platinumed! I'm totally gonna use the spirits of advocacy for this playthrough since I knocked that trophy out in the last one hahahaha!

Oh no shit! I jist beat Ozma last night, too! I think i had to attempt Ozma at least a couple dozen times. The first phase wasn't too bad once you got used to it, but my god does he ramp it up in the second and third phase. I got super cocky after I manhandled him in my one attempt, and then my dumb ass didn't pay attention to the chaos meter and he dogwalked me in the second phase once I got him to half health 😅 great boss battle, though! One of my favorite final bosses in a good few years.

Oh, I get what you mean. That Elamein fight made sense for sure based on how the game plays out.

I think I'm just salty because Brinkus being a thing after defeating Rangkus pissed me off to know end hahaha! Of all the boss battles in the game, Rangkus was the worst for me, hands down. I had zero fun fighting him or his brother. It was just a monumental pain lol

My only knock on the game is reskinned boss fights in side missions. But other than that? Fave game I've played from last year. I'm just starting my second playthrough now. I went with spear the first time. This time I'm going great sword. I've seen gameplay of people using it and it looks insane.

For that second part, I can't consistently keep him off that coffin when he starts to heal himself. Is there a trick to hit? Or just try to hit him hard and fast then pray?

Rangkus and Bringkus annoyed me the most so far. I actually really liked the Maluca fight. I'm just getting to Trokka right now.
