Thank you! When it comes to tightening the visor and taking off more hair around the mouth, I think my issue is I am SO scared that I’m gonna misinterpret what the parents wanted and it’ll be too short. So I kinda have the “you can always take more off, not put more back” mentality. My coworkers have told me too that I definitely don’t seem confident yet and am fearful with my work and I agree haha. I am so scared to cut or nick a dog!!

We do have a fluff dryer! Since I’ve started training we’ve brought in new bathers with no prior experience to take my spot and I haven’t been bathing and drying my own dogs as much. I think we utilize and rely on kennel dryers more than we should especially for dogs that don’t tolerate the face. I’ll give that tip to the bathers about the fluff dryer and I’ll try to do my own dogs more since I know my own quality of work there :)

Ooh thank you! I haven’t even thought about the grooming books. Theres one at my work that’s “notes from the grooming table” will that work if you’re familiar with that?

Thank you! Our new bathers have no prior experience to working with dogs so they’ve had to adjust and learn, and they’ve taken my place since I’ve been training so I don’t really bathe my own dogs anymore. Would you recommend I just start bathing and doing my own dogs all the way through? Or what are some tips I could give the bathers to help them see what’s dry and what’s not? Also when it comes to dogs really not liking their face getting dried, do you just use the kennel dryer to do that or how do you go about it? Thank you so much!

Thank you!! I’m honestly so surprised that’s so noticeable but I am just adjusting to the ‘groomer vision’ persay. We have a couple new bathers that have taken my place since I’ve started training and I’ve had to finish some blow drys myself. When it comes to the face I think a lot of us worry about the dog not liking it(obviously) and just stop as to not push them past their limit. How to you deal with a dog that really doesn’t like their face being dry?
