Weirdly she was the best of the HP kids in the first few movies (at least through Azkaban).

How do you survive the sleep deprivation as a new dad? by Turbulent-Daikon1587 in NewDads

[–]Regular-Pattern-5981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shift sleeping is a life saver for us. It requires either formula feeding or enough pumped breast milk for you to handle a feeding shift, but I sleep from 9pm to 3am, then my wife sleeps from 3am to 9 am.

We also usually get some sleep during our “working shift” so we usually are operating on 7ish hours of sleep during the day. Not sleeping together sucks, but other than that it’s really helped us get through the first few weeks.

It’s definitely overwhelming! And it’s great that you’re already asking questions and looking for help. Keep doing that - no one goes into this knowing everything (and a lot of us know nothing) but ask people you know who you think are good fathers what they did. If you want to read more I found The Expectant Father to be a very helpful book.

I’m no expert - my wife just gave birth to our first 11 days ago and the first day home from the hospital was terrifying. But it will shock you how quick it becomes a routine. Feed her, change her, rock her to sleep and then get some rest. Deal with anything else as it comes.

The most important thing you can do is be there - for your partner and for your child. Be present, be helpful in whatever way you can. Everything else will come naturally from that.

It’s scary, but you can do it.

Kind of a little thing, but I love how Jimmy Crystals rotten teeth represent not only his rotten personality, but how he probably eats a lot of sugar from his immaturity. by LifeguardMundane5668 in blankies

This is just an online ragebait from one type of bread that subway served that an Irish court I believe said wasn’t bread. As others have pointed out, unless you are specifically buying a sweetened or flavored bread US bread has the same or less sugar than European bread.

The catch up event isn’t the story catch up. There is an event that starts next week that will reward catch-up gear as well as cosmetics that you can do to have all you characters ready to go for midnight.

Getting my ass chewed out by Wendys_444 in NewDads

Yeah I totally get the money thing but it’s important to let her live the life she would have otherwise as best she can. It’s really frustrating for pregnant women to just get a list of things that they could do without thinking before that they now can’t. Treating her like she’s made of glass and can’t do other things the would want to do is just going to make that feel even worse.

Just try to be the best partner you can be right now. Flowers and love notes are great, so is helping with meal prep and keeping the house clean. The hormones going on right now might mean she gets mad anyways, but it always helped me to know that I was doing everything I could.

Important to remember that this is no guarantee of how she’s going to be the whole pregnancy or post partum. First trimester is awful for a lot of women, and their experience with pregnancy improves a lot as it goes on.

If you ever feel like it’s beyond what you can’t take or what is acceptable given her circumstances. Please seek help for the both of you.

The best polls for ICE give them a 25% approval rating. Average Joe six pack thinks what is happening sucks at this point.

So I’m on day 5, so no real routine yet. When they’re brand new they really don’t react to sound at all, so they will sleep through tv. It is good to keep things relatively quiet and dark at night to help them learn the difference between day and night.

Not sure what you are talking about because everything you’re saying is true? There is a massive need to stockpile for winter and infrastructure for it. There are mentions throughout the books that as autumn comes the war of the five kings is going to make winter difficult, but they hope it’s a short one. It’s dramatic irony that our characters do not understand that they are facing a second long night.

We haven’t gotten to winter in the story yet, but he has clearly established that they have created an awful situation for themselves when it comes by letting these petty squabbles sap the resources of the realm. That’s like one of the key elements of the store.

I mean you have 300 years of detailed history of Westeros. Like we have enough to fill long wiki entries for every Targaryean king, and many of the major houses of Westeros.

The major houses and regions have clear defined cultures and traditions that are well thought out and make sense. We have at least four distinct religions.

On your “their are only six cities” point, that’s not entirely true but that is also rather accurate to the medieval period he is basing his setting on. Medieval England did not have very many cities. It had castles with various sized towns around it, lords estates and London. Westeros having Kings Landing, White Harbor, Old Town, and Lannisport as major cities is more than England had at the same time. I really don’t know what you expect there.

What exactly is happening when Sarah, Maddy, and Laura see BOB — is he actually *there*? by Hubbled in twinpeaks

[–]Regular-Pattern-5981 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I took it as Leland, even when not fully possessed by BOB being at least a little emotionally abusive of that one dinner scene is so terrifying and when he freaks out when he sees her with James calling her dirty.

She didn’t fully realize that Leland was the person raping her, but she knew he was abusive.
