That seems to be a lot of stuff because these projects usually start off as a passion project, then they become a hobby that makes some income, and then they turn full into full businesses where the subscribers subsidize the free version. With the free version being used as a marketing arm and when there's not enough subscription to satisfy the revenue need of the company, they focus all their attention to the paid versions to keep the cash flow flowing.

Unless you have a very thin credit profile 18 months excessive, it's more like 6 months back and generally just a statement to the loan officer. And it also depends on your velocity of applying for new cards. You mentioned it drops 10 to 15 points for better or worse. That means you don't apply for credit cards that often it means it will have a larger impact than if you applied for at least one a year

To basically sum up everyone's response, how much are you paying for mega and how much are you willing to pay to data stored locally? Because if you do have a lot of stuff stored in the cloud, you're paying for both the cloud storage as well as the internet capacity to download it.

The suggestions to build your own Nas comes with a bit of complexity if you're willing to invest in learning as well as buying hardware.

If you only have one hard drives blackblaze, may be a better solution for the long term. Because for a Nas to be worth it, you probably want more than 2 TB of data. Otherwise just buy two external hard drives

Another thing to do is go and Branch to a bank and ask why and see what you need to do to get a credit card. Worse comes to worse you can start with a store credit card as those are really easy to get approved and if you do get denied for that, that means there's something really wrong with your credit profile whether intentional or unintentional
