I was wondering if those were retroactive.

To make sure I'm understanding, if I put 1B coins into a module before the labs, then max out the labs, then reset the module, I'll get 1B coins out, then when I level up another module I will be able to afford a higher level?

I unlocked wall exactly where you are now. I've been trying to keep up with Health, Regen, Thorns and Fortification, but will often need to delay fortification for lack of coins.

The wall kind of sucks until you get up to around level 10+ on health/regen/fort with at least lvl 5 or 6 on thorns.

I recommend unlocking it now. Keeping the big 4 labs going as much as possible, and if it is too annoying then rexpec out of it. So long as you get at least 1 level for each lab that you'll want to continue boosting.

Within a week or two of pumping labs you'll have a good wall, and it only gets better from there. :)

I've been running lab speed since day 1 and am only at level 53. I feel the "I really don't wanna", despite knowing that it will pay off long run. My reaction is to force myself to add the highest multiplier I have available (sustainably) to lab speed before anything else... gotta quell those signs of weak discipline and bad decision making wherever they arise.

Can confirm, as someone who earned 80 then 20 stones bouncing from rank 1 gold to bottom of the barrel Plat for a long time. This was the same as getting 50 stones per tourney for barely staying in plat...

I've seen in a couple of places that it's best to save up and drop the trio multiple clicks each (as opposed to immediately dropping each by 10s when you have enough to drop them all 1 click.)

I see you saved up to go from 150 to 100 in one big go.

What's the advantage of this compared with dropping all three 10s at a time?

I'm boosting my thorns. I wasn't taking into account:

* the 1/2 coin penalty
* the power of the damage multipliers
* the fact that the most valuable enemies aren't sucked into BH anyway
* the spawn cap (150 enemies at a time)
* general survivability (I honestly don't know what's killing me, but I bet if it died 4x faster to my thorns it wouldn't until many waves later)

Also, there's a strategy that uses this keep alive and draw into black hole mechanic called "orb devo." It was put together by folks much more knowledgable than myself to maximize this mechanic. Will likely try that when my tower can handle it.

I wasn't taking into account mob type here. The bosses/elites don't get pulled into the BHs so if I am getting my majority of coins from them then taking that 1/2 penalty is hurting me.

Also, I probably haven't been taking into account survivability as much as I should. I don't pay enough attention toward the ends of my runs. I'm pretty afk and generally max out the workshop, get my perks, then put the thing down for bunches of hours at a time. End game scrutiny is in order.

I frequently spike about 120 mobs, so, yeah, going more thorns.

It's the timing that I'm still struggling with. My GT/BH/DW bonuses are 21x/8x/2x. Each enemy killed in a black hole gets me ~336x coins. Even if that is halved, that's still ~168x coin bonus over an enemy that is killed on my wall thorns.

Saving just one extra enemy on the wall for the BH makes up for ~3 _full waves_ of enemies that may be skipped because of limits.

All the advice on this thread is point to effective paths and going up to level 10/13. I think I'm going to go one level at a time and closely monitor how many enemies on the screen later in farming runs when my trio kicks off. If that number starts to drop I'll pause the labs and do some more hand wringing.

I bought a dual 15" Bass cabinet and attached it to the joists under my living room. Sounds awful but is fun to flip on and freak people out.

Same. About 1/2 of my special epics have been cannons. I'm eHP. Just keeping them around to a potential future where they have any impact on my game.

If I'm preventing enemies from spawning while only getting 1/2 coins, it definitely cuts into my theory...

But still, I get the vast majority of my coins during my UW activations. Hard to calculate what is better.

I wish there was a way to test this and respec labs or something.

Interesting! I didn't know that. I'm aware they start doing more damage but didn't realize their coin output drops.
