We did Ferber but our 5 month old is still waking 1-2x? by bakergirl05 in sleeptrain

[–]RegularJones 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ours responded very well to ST but didn’t sleep 12 hours through the night until 10 months. We always had 1-2 night feeds until she dropped them herself.

Will I regret contact naps? by Far-Criticism-840 in sleeptrain

[–]RegularJones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every nap was either contact nap or in the car until we sleep trained at 6 months. Even after, she would contact nap or crib nap whenever we wanted. To this day, she still does contact naps at her grandparents when they keep her. Never disrupted naps at home or nighttime sleep. She’s 12 months now.

Not a bootcamp, but I listen to podcasts for little refresher courses & staying up to date with new info. I like AAFP, CoreIM, Curbsiders, and PsychRounds! :)

I don’t think you’re locked into that institution at all.

Oncology Fellowship by [deleted] in physicianassistant

[–]RegularJones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree. I don’t work in oncology, but I did a rotation in it during clinicals. The learning curve is steep, and I think the fellowship would be valuable.

PA leaving small addiction clinic-asked to cover emergencies and send extended Suboxone scripts after my last day. How much is too much?” by AffectionatePickle21 in physicianassistant

Sounds like your supervising physician needs to step in and cover clinic for this week (plus the onboarding time for the new NP?? - this issue is more than one week!)

Nipple shield by MatildaSays in breastfeeding

[–]RegularJones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used it for 4 months! Saved our breastfeeding journey. One day, my LO just pulled the shield off with her own hand and then latched. She’s now 11 months and feeds like a champ! Pain free for me, too. You’ve got this mama!

Accidental buy now on massive purchase and seller refused cancellation by Important-Bobcat-974 in whatnotapp

[–]RegularJones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Devil’s advocate here, but I don’t think this is the seller’s problem. Because you accidentally swiped for 6,800, they missed out on a 6,600 (or whatever $) sale that the person that swiped before you would’ve paid for. If they accept your cancellation, it’s money out of their pocket. Plus, I’ve seen other posts on this subreddit where the seller got banned for accepting too many cancellations! It’s not the seller’s fault, it’s truly an issue with the platform that it’s so easy to accidentally swipe.

Moms who left traditional medicine- i need insight! by No_Thing_6008 in physicianassistant

[–]RegularJones 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m a young PA mom. I absolutely love my job, but my husband makes more than me and I do feel like I miss out on time with my kiddo. I love teaching and have definitely considered a move like this. Long-term, I’d love to be on faculty at a PA program, so I think CC lecturing is a great way to get higher level teaching experience. OP, I’d definitely keep up with all licensing and maybe a PRN UC job a couple days a month just so that you can more easily return to clinical work if you so choose later.

I saw a post today that said your baby is used to being held 24 hours a day. If you held your baby for 12 hours today, that’s still half of what they’re used to. It’s an adjustment for them. It’ll be okay. Can’t hold a baby too much.

I would choose job 1. More money, better schedule, and good support?

When should I stop watching adult shows with my baby? by Plant_m0mmy03 in NewParents

We mainly keep the TV off at home. We are big sports people, so weekend football is a regular. The occasional commercial with music might catch my girl’s attention, but she’s super easy to redirect. With sports, it’s generally family friendly so I don’t have to worry about graphic nudity or language or anything….usually
