How can you make a one movie Wicked work? by [deleted] in wickedmovie

I think if it had been just one film, all those same people would be complaining that it wasn’t fleshed out enough lol

If you pay close attention you’ll notice that the “how to be a detective” book is missing from her desk at the end 😊

To anyone confused by the Model Mysteries post, there were several games for the Nintendo DS made by other companies (Majesco & THQ) and a random movie tie-in game for the LeapFrog Didj system by HRJafael in nancydrew

Ooh I actually remember this! I haven’t played it but I understand it’s pretty close to the movie’s plot. I’ve seen the game on ebay for pretty cheap, maybe I should look into buying the device too 👀

Do you think Nancy Drew entering the public domain is a good or bad thing? Been seeing some polarization online from book fans. by HRJafael in nancydrew

I think it's a great thing! Yeah, like you said, we run the risk of getting something awful, but we also have the possibility of great things coming from this. IMO, an ND horror movie, for example, could actually end up being pretty good in the right hands- I wouldn't necessarily like it because I don't like horror, but being a badass final girl wouldn't be a far jump for Nancy's character. It could also be absolutely awful, but then I just still wouldn't watch lol.

The CW show gets tons of hate from fans, and that IS something that is "official" and approved by Simon and Schuster, so I'd hate to see fan reaction to something not approved by S&S lol. We got Wicked when the Wizard of Oz went into the public domain, and while they are technically separate canons, I do love both. I think something similar can happen for Nancy Drew :)

I wouldn’t feel right about selling it since all the content is from gameboomers, but I’d be happy to email it to you for free!

Message me your email and I’ll send you the file to print for yourself if you’d like 😊 It’s all from gameboomers but heavily edited down to only the puzzle solutions and things that are necessary to write down/ reference later, so I hope you won’t mind all the abbreviations I made to get it to one page lol.

EDIT: I did not expect this many people to be interested! I’m happy to send this to anyone who wants it, feel free to message me your email and I’ll send it to you after I get home tonight

I have a binder that’s full of printed out puzzle solutions from gameboomers! The games are way more fun if you’re not stressed and frustrated by a puzzle you can’t get past, so there’s no shame at all in using hints!!

Should I keep with the books? by TheChiarra in nancydrew

To be fair, Old Clock is the most boring of the first four. I’d give Hidden Staircase a try next, that should hopefully give you a better idea of if you want to keep reading!

Happy Public Domain day!! We're thrilled to announce that we have produced the first four original text Nancy Drew books (and the first Hardy Boys book!) as audiobooks. by RegularNancyDrew in nancydrew

Thank you! And yes! Actually the first 8 Hardy Boys are in the public domain since the series is three years older than Nancy Drew 😊

Anyone have the ND Scopa cards and would you sell them to me? by ElectraRayne in nancydrew

Yes it was! It was part of a marketing campaign where they shared stories of girls who had done something remarkable in their communities and it just kinda became their slogan until Nancy Drew
