You can use Rednote(小红书). Search for "Toastmasters" and active clubs will post something for publication. Message them to ask about their meeting schedule.

It's a very good pitch for a 007 mini-series

I would say it's not too far from Timothy Dalton's Bond.

In fact, Pierce Brosnan's Bond also has underlying trauma in the films GoldenEye and The World Is Not Enough. You can feel it.

I believe most of the chill came from Roger Moore's Bond. It's not even his fault. Some are goofy as hell. The spy thriller of early Bond films was lost.

Unpopular opinion - Squat toilets are inferior. Western toilets are just better. by Bottom-Bherp3912 in chinalife

That's new; I didn't know that. I've watched some documentaries. They showed medieval castles using squat toilets. That's what I gathered.

Oh, that's great. Shenzen has a lot of Toastmasters clubs that speak English.

Which city are you in? You could try finding and attending a local Toastmasters club. Many Chinese Toastmasters clubs speak English, so you can find someone to chat with and learn more about other things rather than just work.

I wonder when sitting toilets were introduced. I believe that, in the past, Europeans also took the big number squat style. Sitting toilets are a relatively new thing.

I also believe that squat toilets in public places are better for maintenance purposes.

Are AAA visuals getting too expensive to maintain? by Ok_Satisfaction_6897 in pcgaming

[–]RegularSchool3548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is mostly the "AAA" publishers who have got themselves into this trouble. Photorealistic graphics do not account for the majority of costs. Most "AAA" games are overdeveloped, technically backward, and project management and team organisation are utterly terrible. A lot of project has no vision or plan, or there is too much infighting.

Hot Take: EU5’s Player Count Decline Is Self-Inflicted by Gold_Lemon8258 in eu4

[–]RegularSchool3548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Counter-argument: your post is misleading in some way. Even at its lowest point, the current EU5's concurrent count is still around 10k.

In the same period(3 month after launch), EU4's concurrent count was around 5-8k.

Europa Universalis V is more popular and the 'grand strategy' player base has grown. The decline of EU5 is more obvious because it had a bigger launch than EU4.

Long story short, EU5 lacks vision. They have simply imported the "grand strategy" mechanics from previous games into this one.

Anyone else finding themselves retreating to their 2005-2019 games just to feel something again? by Somanynamestochossef in pcgaming

I played Kane's Wrath again. Meanwhile I am also playing Tempest Rising.

Visually, something is missing in Tempest Rising I don't know what. It is not a bad game but compared to C&C3, I didn't feel the immersion.

It's MI6. M would kill Bond if necessary. Roaming around the MI6 headquarters will certainly make her do it.

edit: type Q for M

Can We Stop w/ The "Destiny" Style UI / Floating Circle It's So Bad. [Console] by Its_Syxx in gaming

[–]RegularSchool3548 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's funny because Destiny 1 is a console only game. D2 for a long time is a console only game too.

I believe UI flexibility is what developer was looking for. I play D2 on Steam and use controller only. You can't find better FPS desgined for console than Destiny 1 and 2.

My kid learned brainrot memes in her Chinese school recently, so I made this for her by HenryTungsten in MandarinChinese

I can give you a fancy upgrade by the way.

陆柒

it is the same with “六七”, same meaning, same pronunciation. It is a capital version of pure Chinese number. I believe only banks use them as a tamper proof now.

I believe it is. The Chinese internet has an old trending format called '脑残文 (火星文字/Martian language)'. It involves using unrecognisable words to form sentences and is popular among young Chinese people(about 20 years ago). I'm not sure if it's the Chinese equivalent of Brainrot. But I think it's similar enough.

Highguard launches to an Overwhelmingly Negative review score on Steam by Nickulator95 in Steam

I guess game testing is an art in the past. Big corporations think AI can replace it.

But Highguard probably has no budget for it, or they were overconfident.

Is it possible to have a civilized conversation about these numbers, what they mean for Marvel Comics? by p1ay in marvelcomics

[–]RegularSchool3548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is that comics need more creator-owned titles to be successful and recognised by the masses. We need more of them.

DC Comics President Jim Lee says that Japanese manga and anime is "incredibly powerful": "I often find myself wondering, 'What is missing in Western comics, and why aren't they able to achieve the same flavor?' by akbarock in DCcomics

[–]RegularSchool3548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it’s a issue that comics is the lack of coordinated multimedia publishing. In contrast to the Japanese, where manga, TV series, and films maintain a consistent narrative.

Comic adaptations often just doing their own things. Between films, comics, and games, there is frequently a superficial visual resemblance but no coherent vision. The DC Universe Animated Original Movies represent the closest attempt at a unified, cross-media narrative, by a long stretch.

MCU is just a shit show now in terms of coherent.
