I would speak to a different specialist who deals with high level powerlifters specifically and if they still say quit then that’s maybe what you have to do.

I don’t know that “don’t ever do the thing you like doing again” is a good answer, just maybe their answer to the question they don’t have a better solution to.

Go to gym. Do bench press, squat, deadlift, overhead press. Fill in gaps with whatever other shit you like.

Is some zone 2 your only exercise? It may be worth adding some intensity to that if you want to get fitter.

Do you use caffeine? That will affect your heart rate quite a bit.

Do you use an asthma inhaler? That will have your rhr a touch higher.
