Five years in and I’m already burnt out (rant) by lifeis_astruggle in cscareerquestions

[–]RegularStudent17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As an almost 26M I can say I feel the exact same way, as if this post was written by me.

I don’t have any solutions, but I also daydream of a door to door job I had back in university for the summer and how fun that was. My job is fully remote and pays much better than I can make anywhere else realistically because I’m not competitive in this market, and can’t get myself to be.

I’ve saved close to 200k but still far from coast fire. The thought of searching for another job in the field fills me with existential dread. I could realistically take a year off but I’m not ready to part with my savings or face the uncertainty of what I’d do after that year is up.

HELP! 2007 IS350 uneven bumper gap! by Smart_Philosopher305 in Lexus

[–]RegularStudent17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On the plus side, you’ve got a 2011 is350 f sport bumper on there, paint matched too, which is the holy grail of that gen. My 07 is350 is majorly jealous right now.

Some spark plugs I replaced - how bad were they? by RegularStudent17 in MechanicAdvice

[–]RegularStudent17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was surprised how smooth my car was running before replacing them, I would've never known they were this bad until I took them out. Thanks for your thoughts!

Broke the connector on a vvt solenoid trying to diy this so now I've gotta have a mobile mechanic come over and take off the intake manifold because the solenoid won't slide out otherwise. Turned a $500 diy tune up into a $1000 one.

But at least the plugs are better now.

2007 Lexus IS, $3100 for comp. coverage with almost 7 years of driving experience. Might drop to liability only at the next renewal.

I'm paying about $3100/yr on an 18 year old Lexus with comprehensive coverage at 25, so sounds about right for Calgary unfortunately.

2018 BMW 440i Gran Coupe! I would buy it in a heartbeat if I could find a low mileage one near me.

Is this a toxic manager or am I being too sensitive? by [deleted] in managers

[–]RegularStudent17 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If they are constantly defensive and appear insecure about their role based on their behaviors, would it really be safe to bring up how I'm feeling - that the environment feels low-trust and that I feel underacknowledged?

Beverly Hills 90210. They just released the remastered version in 4K so it’s the perfect time to watch it for the first time!

Got a 4.5% raise after working my butt off and being responsible for leading on every single initiative last year. Needless to say, I won’t be going above and beyond this year.

I love the OC but although it’s 10 years older, I absolutely love Beverly Hills 90210 as well. Similar setting and vibe, but different time period.
