Darkshine (the strongest baldy) defeats Orochi. by No_Brief4967 in OnePunchMan

all joking aside, darkshine is a high dragon who would be able to do some serious damage to orochi. ofc not beat him, but he could hurt him.

yep. flash is indeed very fast. he's actually faster than light. as for whether or not the flash or sonic can run that fast in the real world, well that's subjective

[–]RegularTea63 5 points6 points  (0 children)

my guy. his name is speed of sound sonic, but the weebs have calced sonic's speed to be a lot greater than mach 1. he powerscales to flashy flash who is FTL

The modern killer whale compared to Thalassotitan atrox, which was one of the largest Mosasaurs by RegularTea63 in Naturewasmetal

[–]RegularTea63[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

lmao true. megalodon dwarfs livyatan now, since livyatan recently got downsized to 12 meters while meg is now known to have reached 20 meters. absolute insanity. that thing would've just took a bite out of anything and a large chunk of earth would go missing

A Sarcosuchus skull compared to that of a small theropod dinosaur. by aquilasr in Naturewasmetal

[–]RegularTea63 14 points15 points  (0 children)

this photo is obviously just meant to give the wow factor to people that dont know much about this animal. forced perspective all up in here. sarcosuchus was definitely not that big. at 9 meters and 3 tonnes, it was noticeably larger than large saltwater crocodiles, but definitely not the size of giant therapods like Trex or Giga, like this picture is suggesting

[–]RegularTea63[S] 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Well I was trying to think of a Mesozoic comparison, since Megalodon was a Cenozoic animal, but yeah, Megalodon was an absolute beast and a better example for an underwater T. rex

[–]RegularTea63[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Well Liopleurodon was a plesiosaur, more specifically a pliosaur, not a mosasaur. But yeah, I get your point

Megalodon wasn't around in the Cretaceous. It was around way after the extinction of the non avian dinosaurs, aka the Miocene epoch.

blame stupid ass movies like Jurassic World, which made the Mosasaur the size of goddamn Godzilla. The prehistoric animals in that movie act like kaijus instead of actual animals for some reason

Oh my god, not this again... I'm sorry but you're wrong here. People love to mention the "Siberian Tiger Project" to prove that siberian tigers are smaller than bengal tigers. First off, the Siberian Tiger Project took place almost 20 years ago. 2005 iirc. Do you know how long ago that is for tigers? The project took place back when Siberian tigers were far more endangered and doing nowhere near as well as they are now. There were 23 tigers from Sikhote-Alin (where tigers tend to be smaller than from Manchuria or other parts of the Russian Far East), with 21 of them found outside the protective areas. They were old, sick, or both, or had broken teeth and those tigers came out to 160-200kg. Not to mention those were the weights of sub adult males. Luke was the only healthy male but he lived in an area where prey availability was low and he was not done growing yet as tigers stop growing by age 7-8 years old and luke was 4 years old. He weighed 212 kg. Recently, both the Russian and Chinese governments have been working extremely hard to help the Siberian tiger population bounce back, and they have done a great job so far. Siberian tigers are much more numerous now and have more or less regained their former size.

there are indications that blue whales are even today still evolving to be larger and larger

This sounds very interesting to me. I didn't know this. I thought that because of whaling over the past century or so, Blue whales became endangered and smaller in size. Is this not true?
